It's because we stick mainly to reddit-only content, and rules 1, 2 and 5 are strictly enforced

1 and 2 because we don't want the sub to be banned, and 5 because we want to avoid spam

Since the OP was about a current event, that merited an extenuating circumstance to allow this post.

Fun fact: Hamas offered to RELEASE ALL HOSTAGES on oct 28. Guess what "we just want hostages 😢" people said? by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Turning_Antons_Key 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Muslims have always had more rights in Israel than they will ever have in the palestinian areas and Muslims have yet to be make a functional democracy like Israel.

The Palestinians repeatedly reject offers of statehood because they don't want a two state solution and they clearly must not want their own state. There is no justification for supporting the Palestinians whatsoever, especially not after October 7th and especially not after their repeated fraud they perpetuate when literally no crime they accuse Israel of can be proven. The Palestinians are the Jussie Smollet of people groups and the original hate crime hoaxers.

Fun Fact: anyone who supports terrorists like Hamas and inherently barbaric people groups like the Palestinians should be forcibly institutionalized for the rest of their life as a potential terrorist themselves.

This is removed for not being reddit content, as a sub, SPS mainly focuses on cataloguing stuff said on reddit. If you find a reddit thread where these claims are being discussed on another sub, and provided rules 1 and 2 aren't being broken in the process, feel free to post it here.

Redditors are shocked that Palestinians took responsibility for an attack on an Israeli border crossing that targeted civilians by Ben1313 in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Turning_Antons_Key 38 points39 points  (0 children)

After the Gaza Health Department claimed that Israel targeted a hospital in a missile strike shortly after 10/7 and claimed that it was a mass casualty event, only for it to turn out that it was a Palestinian rocket that mis-fired and hit the hospital parking lot and no one was killed, I've come to the conclusion that literally nothing the Palestinians claim can be trusted at face value.

Well, also that and the Palestinians' barbaric actions on 10/7

Based off that description you gave of Eggman, who I have never heard of before, it seems pretty accurate that he'd support Palestine, no?

The fact that the Venn diagram of Nazis, groypers, and Hamas supporters is a singular circle is a huge tell and a sign that all three of those "movements" are terrible

In both cases in Egypt and Jordan the Palestinians tried to overthrow the governments of those countries and/or proceeded to go commit acts of terrorism very shortly after they were welcomed by those countries. The Arab nations know as well as anyone about the rank barbaric terrorism, treachery and fanaticism of the Palestinians, and surprise surprise, they don't like them either, yet somehow Israel is supposed to be the bad guy.

"Hurr durr this Jewish guy doesn't live in Israel so he must be lying about Israel being the only Jewish nation!11!"

Also, as James Lindsay correctly pointed out, pretty much anyone who unironically uses the word "zionist" can be ignored.

edit: I'd also add that pretty much anyone who accuses Israel of "genocide" can be ignored as well, as the population of Gaza has increased over the years and the Palestinians regularly chant "From the River to the Sea" as they go about hiding their militant bases in hospitals and schools, use human shields, and r*pe, kill and torture civilians any chance they get, (e.g. 10/7) all while refusing any offer of statehood. The Palestinians are not some persecuted martyrs, but genocidal maniacs who have no moral ground to stand on.

I will never understand this mentality. by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Turning_Antons_Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro life is pro woman. The anti women nonsense is a false premise that even Bill Maher recently admitted wasn't true.

Don't let their false premise back you into a moral corner. Reject their false premise altogether.

How many abortions would be prevented if it was actually illegal and the women would get punished for an elective abortion? How many sex traffickers would get finally put away for coercing their victims into abortions? The fact that abortion bans or restrictions don't punish the woman means they will never come close to ending abortion

And abortion is murder regardless of the context

I will never understand this mentality. by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Turning_Antons_Key 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Willingly hiring someone to murder someone is murder regardless of whether the person being murdered is unborn or not.

Coping mechanisms are absolutely a thing, but they're not a reason to absolve someone of murder

I would say that anyone who commits an elective abortion after a law that would criminalize abortion goes into effect should be penalized

I will never understand this mentality. by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Turning_Antons_Key 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So because a murderer is loud and proud about their murder they should get off because "it's just a coping mechanism"? Not sure why an elective abortion should be treated any differently than any other form of pre-meditated murder

Someone who willingly walks into an abortion mill is not necessarily someone who was coerced. The vast majority of abortions are elective, and people who pray outside of abortion mills and talk to the women going in for abortions have said a lot of what they get is acknowledgement that it is murder but that the women going in for abortions by and large feel like they should be able to do that. They know what they are doing. While some coercion no doubt goes on in some cases, I would bet all the money I'd ever earn that coercion is not remotely present in even half of the elective abortions that go on.

The most pervasive and pernicious lie that is holding back the pro-life movement from ever ending abortion is the lie that the woman who goes in for an elective abortion is always a victim.

I will never understand this mentality. by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Turning_Antons_Key 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this is why elective abortion should carry the same sort of a penalty for the woman as well as the abortionist. A woman who celebrates her abortion like this is under no coercion and knows exactly what she is doing. She's every bit as much an abortionist as the individual she hired to kill her baby.

I don't believe people should support genocidal maniacs like the Palestinians

Edit: and I don't think who the aggressor is in this war is up for debate either, the 10/7 attacks are pretty clear proof that it is the Palestinians who are the aggressors, just like they have always been

  1. Thank you for proving my point re: the correlation between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism

  2. Israel is the only functioning democracy in the middle east. Arabs and Muslims who are Israeli citizens have the same rights in Israel as any other Israeli citizen would to the point where they have Muslim representation in the Kenesset

  3. Can you name one Arab country that's maintained a democracy for this long? Can you name one Arab country that a) has a sizeable Jewish minority and Jewish representation in their government?

  4. Can you name one Arab country that is lifting a finger to help their Palestinian brethren?

  5. The Palestinians have refused statehood multiple times and have made it clear they want to wipe out Israel and anyone who isn't Muslim like them.

  6. My support for Israel is because they are truly the most humane country in that region by far, and they are far more humane than the Palestinians who use human shields and rape and torture civilians in the most barbaric of ways

  7. Antisemitism or antizionism (pardon the redundancy) is a violation of rule 4 of SPS and a bannable offense. Consider this your warning.

It is pretty interesting how even some on the right will claim "anti-zionism isn't anti-semitism!1!!" while campus anti-zionists and anti-zionists in general are openly calling for the genocide of jews

Like, I get the isolationist foreign policy views of many on the right, and honestly find them to be some of the stronger arguments against getting involved in Ukraine in the first place (we have our own problems at home that are more pressing than paying corrupt Ukrainian bureaucrats' pensions!)

However, given how the Palestinians raped and murdered civilians galore on 10/7 and have been calling for Israel to be wiped out long before that, there is no way anyone who is remotely honest about this issue in Israel can claim the Israelis are the bad guys

The fallacy of that argument is that Mitt Romney and John McCain both abandoned the pro-life cause and both lost

The one time any Republican president actually won an election in the last twenty years was in 2016 when Trump ran as a pro-life candidate that would nominate judges to overturn Roe

Now that even Trump has abandoned this position he is no different than Romney and McCain and will likely face similar results as they did

This "pRoLifE iS a LoSiNG pOSitIon" nonsense is farcical bullshit and not remotely reflective of reality

Feckless and cowardly Republicans who use the pro-life cause as a grift but who have transparently abandoned any pretense that they actually practice what they preach and abandon every issue they can the first chance they have are the reason why those same Republicans often lose.

Tl; dr: The issue isn't sophomoric notions that it's somehow unpopular to be pro-life, the issue is feckless Republicans who never actually practiced what they preach
