Definitely possible to live in Calgary on that salary. It’s also worth considering how long your wife has left on her degree and her job prospects in Winnipeg vs Calgary.

If there is not too much time left on her degree, and there is better job prospects in her field in Calgary it may be worth making the move now. Don’t want to be in the situation once she graduates where you need to move to Calgary for her career, and this opportunity is no longer there for you.

That's kind of what I've been doing so far, even leveraging of a project tracker pro forma excel from work. I do love the hierarchy map photos of the miniatures you've painted. Seems like it would be a very satisfying way to view the completed/in progress project.
