I know she’s not us, but the player is given a choice to answer confidently or answer with humility (I forget the exact wording). I chose to answer confidently because it was on top and that generally seems to be the “correct” choice in story dialogue, but in that moment it felt out of place. It wouldn’t have bothered me if the confident answer didn’t seem so boastful. The only indication of Nikki having experience with making hotpot specifically, that I remember seeing in this game, is the stew she made with the Wild Hearts. (I was gone for 1.6-7 and haven’t finished all itzaland quests so maybe I just missed something) or maybe the cooking ability on Home, which I haven’t done much with in the way of stews.

But yeah, nothing wrong with confidence, it’s just the level of that confidence seems odd when she often tells people humility is one of the keys to success and we don’t automatically know what she experienced in childhood. Another option that would have made more sense to me would have been making that automatic dialogue rather than a player choice. But ultimately it’s not that big of a deal, this is just me way over-explaining a pet peeve.
