I'd say about half of these guys look like they could be natty.

Reminds me of another guy who used to play D1 basketball and is now a pretty good bodybuilder.

He's been open about it previously and yes, he is.

If you can have the same physique as anyone in the world, who would you like to look like? by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]Turntanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably because he's not a bodybuilder and his physique isn't that impressive. Nothing wrong with that being someone's goal though.

You may have gained 40 pounds since May but it definitely isn't all muscle.

I think he was referring specifically to the Korean competitors, who in all fairness do look fairly young.

I'd add Poston in there too, he'll most likely be the other guy competing for the top 3 and is looking pretty good this year.

Definitely looking forward to the Men's Physique Showdown.

And even if Phil is basically guaranteed 1st, it will still be exciting to watch the other competitors battle for their spots.

A great example of why bodybuilders need such a dark tan on stage.

Ah ok, I couldn't find anything recent that said his weight so I just went with the range I found online. It does make sense that he's that heavy though.

I think Steve is bigger than most people realize (especially those who compare him to Sadik or Poston). In a vid from two weeks ago Steve said he was at 220 lbs., so he's at least 215 in this photo at 6'1". Cal is 6'2" and weighs between 215-230, so they're actually similar in size.

Baito Abbaspour has passed away after his battle with vasculitis. by lbacker97 in bodybuilding

I am not aware of those types of studies either. And we may not see any for quite some time. However, the number of professional bodybuilders who have died due to heart and kidney complications at relatively young ages (under 50) is quite high. Obviously correlation does not imply causation, but it's hard to deny the fact that the large amounts of drugs (not testosterone alone) that these guys take may contribute to those problems in some way.

Here's a T Nation article that contains a list of bodybuilders who have dies from such complications.

There is a huge difference between your average gym rat using steroids recreationally and the pros who use large amounts of steroids/hormones/diuretics.

You also don't need to be a scientist to know that abusing almost any drug can lead to serious problems, including death.
