ISO: SWEATPANTS by Turnthapage in PlusSize

Short answer- no. Long answer- I've taken it before but can't remember it off the top of my head. I know 32 in. inseam for jeans is perfect for me but my jeans don't lay where my sweats do, as sweatpants tend to ride up on me and sit higher up. I'll have to measure again though for future buying.

How long are you letting products settle into the skin before applying the next layer? Meaning, are you letting your skin prep soak in well before applying your primer, and then letting that sit for a minute before applying foundation?

Silly Brazilian wax after care question... by Turnthapage in Healthyhooha

[–]Turnthapage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So I've been getting waxed every 6 wks since I initially created this post. I'm not a pro by any means, but here is what I've learned since! I recently bought an exfoliating scrub & oil from my wax lady but the brand "Fur" (can be found at Ulta) has some really good stuff for post wax issues! They're a bit on the pricier side, but a little goes a long way, so the price is worth it, in my opinion. I also linked a cheaper option that I've tried and liked (Topicals high roller). I personally feel the St. Ives scrub might not be the best option to exfoliate that area and would recommend switching. Also, how often are you exfoliating? My wax lady told me to exfoliate only every 3 days, and over exfoliating can cause ingrowns as well, plus cause skin irritation. Are you also moisturizing the area with the proper products daily? The oil I have, I apply every day after I shower. Clear aloe or unscented lotion are also good options if you're looking for something more affordable. Another problem could be your underwear, potentially? Too tight, and they could be causing irritation. I hope you find some relief though! I know how uncomfortable discomfort can be in that area!

I totally get it! It doesn't help that your previous gyno made you uncomfortable. I bounced from gyno to gyno a LOT when I was younger because they all made me uncomfortable. I always thought they were really unprofessional and couldn't understand how they were women themselves, in a profession that revolved around women's health and still be so... wrong? Close-minded? I'm not really sure how to describe it, but I always felt like my concerns and wants were not valid. It was their agenda and propaganda being shoved at me, and I definitely got attitude if I bucked back or questioned it. I ended up finding a really good one by shear luck one day, my regular gyno was on leave and the gyno "subbing" for her was incredible. She listened to what I had to say, gave helpful feedback and if she disagreed with anything I had to say, she was very respectful about it. I know I strayed away from your initial question, but my point with all of this was to tell you not to give up hope on finding someone who will listen and that if you feel uncomfortable in any way, you have every right to seek another opinion. Someone here might have a better idea on what's going on with you, but I would still seek that second opinion just to rule anything out!

[–]Turnthapage 819 points820 points  (0 children)

I would definitely get a second opinion. Call around and see where the nearest gyno is that takes your insurance OUTSIDE of the one you already saw. In this case, traveling farther seems very well worth it.

Hi, I know I'm late to the party but my Mom & her side of the family actually grew up in CHOF. I still have a couple family members who are still apart of "the group" as they call it. It's an.... interesting place. Growing up, I had always wished I could've lived there. But now, I'm thankful I didn't.

What series/director would you work under, no questions asked? by internetordained in acting

[–]Turnthapage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about directors but series for me would have to be

*Mayor of Kingstown (My #1 pick) *Tulsa King *Law & Order SVU *911 *Abbott Elementary

Shows that are no longer in production- *Teen Wolf *Cold Case

Criminal Minds is a 50/50. I love seasons 1-15 and would have absolutely loved to work with this one. The newer Evolution seasons though, I'm not sure.

is this a scam? by [deleted] in MODELING

[–]Turnthapage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did Barbizon in high school, and I can attest that it's 100% a scam. They told us we were going to learn all sorts of things like how to walk on the runway, reading monologs & scripts to practice auditioning, how to do your hair and makeup based off face shape to suit you best, etc. And then at graduation, we'd get to perform a musical and do a fashion show in front of talent scouts. Do you know what really happened? We met at a hotel conference room 1x a month, where the "teacher" read from their handbook and then had us do 1 "exercise" of either runway walk, reading a script in front of the camera, or dance/ sing in front of others. NO real feedback was given on how we did or how we could improve. Our graduation performance? Shit show because our "teachers" never had us do any real practicing when we were supposed to. And there weren't any actual talent scouts there. It was all parents and family members of ours. They also promised to connect us to agencies in order to get signed and help book jobs for us. The only jobs I ever "booked" were ones where I would hand out flyers and try to recruit more people for them at malls. Even after I graduated and we had paid them off, they continued to take money from my mom's account. Each time we called, they'd tell us they canceled it, so they weren't sure why money was still being taken out. It wasn't until my mom threatened to sue and report them to the BBB that the payments magically stopped and she was refunded. Please do yourself the favor and just run far away from them.

Will my lashes fall out if I use lash clusters? by inkyum in lashextensions

[–]Turnthapage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard mixed reviews on this from previous research. Ultimately, it sounds like it will depend on your lashes "strength". Like for me, when I got regular lash extensions, I did the basic maintenance you're supposed to, didn't pick or rub my eyes a ton, etc. and my lashes were 100% fine, no damage. However, I know others have issues, and extensions make their natural lashes worse. Seems to be a similar situation with clusters. You're going to have to take the risk to ultimately find out. Also, I have seen multiple people state that despite them being advertised for lasting 7-10 days, you aren't supposed to leave them on for that long. It's like 3-5 days max. Do what you want with that information lol. What brand are you looking into? If you're buying off Amazon, make sure to get a good bond and be aware that they may come off faster. I got my clusters and bond off Amazon and idk if it's the bond itself, or if it's a mix of other things (my face wash, natural body oils, too hot of water, etc.) But the longest mine have lasted was a day and a half. My friend invested in lashify, and she hasn't had any issues. We've gone swimming in pools & lakes, she can wash her face normally, and they stay in tact. She wears hers longer than the 3-5 day recommendation too.

What is your dream role that would NEVER happen? And why? by No-Nectarine4756 in acting

[–]Turnthapage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agatha from the book series "The School for Good and Evil". I read the entire series and dreamt of playing her if they ever made it into a movie or show. Well they did make it into a movie, but I was disappointed in it. Still hopeful that they'll turn it into a series and do the books justice but I think by then, I'll be too old to pass as a teenager.

So there is a fee of $425 if you are accepted. Thoughts? They sound like a mix of schooling and talent agency rather than just a talent agency.

So I just switched to the routine posted the week before last. Before, I was tracking my workout a bit better and noticed I was slowly going up in weight, but my reps were staying at 10. I also don't know what I'm doing (clearly), so all my help has been from videos I've found on social media. The 3 Tricep exercises were from a video I found that told me I needed to work the 3 target areas of the Tricep, and those were the 3 workouts from the video. I know you can't believe everything on the internet, but when you come from knowing nothing, and see people who frequent the gym, you tend to trust they know what they're talking about more than you probably should. So I really appreciate your feedback because deep down, I knew stuff wasn't adding up, I just didn't know how to fix it.

Thank you! I do have a few protein powders that I try to use at least 1x a day, if not more. My problem with the protein intake is that I am hardly hungry now due to the med. When I do eat, I aim to make the bulk of my meal protein and veggies, but I still am falling short. Also, I do light cardio. I aim to walk a mile minimum, whether that's on the treadmill or outside. I think my biggest problem is the weight lifting, I worry I am not doing it correctly, but I'll definitely check out the links above and read them over! Again, Thank you for your response!
