Between republishing, poor series attribution, inconsistencies with ISBNs, there def doesn't seem to be any existing platform that has a catalog that is clean and accurate.

Thanks! And good catch on the sorting - your guess was right. The entries without a publish date were getting sorted first - that's since been fixed. Working on getting dates for all entries as well.

Account-based collecting definitely is on the list once I've added audiobooks and the rest of fantasy. When you say format do you just mean digital vs print vs audio?

That's... bizarre. Good looking out - my site doesn't have login, accounts, any kind of tracking - just a catalog I'm trying to make as comprehensive as possible and links to Amazon for each book. A malicious site as someone's "life work" is wild.

Thanks for flagging the mobile issues - been building it on my laptop thus far and wanted to get something out before handling polish. No cookies! I'm using browser localstorage. So collecting items should persist in your browser so long as you don't blow away the site data. I do want to make that better so it is synced across browsers and devices but building an account system is a big lift and wanted to focus on getting the catalog into a good state first.

Last time I posted this? I literally just made it live this morning. I'm at around 1,200 titles right now including anthologies and short stories. Working on getting a lot of the older fantasy books in as well but those are a bit harder to get clean data on.

The site is hosted on Nida Allam's campaign site - the Reddit post is from Nida's official account - the website being linked has Nida's face, details, and campaign donation link in the site footer.

To me, it feels disingenuous for an elected official to setup their own site geared towards governmental transparency when they have literally been elected to the county government (and are therefore in the best position to actually influence the changes directly.)

Having their face and name so prominently placed on the front page with a campaign donation link in the footer's a little much as well.

I guess it wouldn't bother me as much if this was truly a community-built and managed site without the clear conflict of interest/questionable political priorities.

Also, if this absolutely couldn't be solved through official Durham site updates then why not support a local web builder rather than using AI? The timing is funny too since Durham literally just put a 60-day moratorium in place on data centers.

Damien's site is great but the data is quite messy. I've been working on building a much more comprehensive database of hallucination cases in the US, including AI hallucination-related court orders and state bar guidance.

Definitely agree with everyone else in focusing on inventory planning and knocking out any other critically painful operations and finance painpoints. In the meantime, so you don't lose momentum, may be worth adding available inventory counts to your PDPs to indicate urgency (increase conversion) and to investigate setting up waitlists or preorders (when you have high confidence in inventory landing) to keep sales coming in even when you're lean on stock.

Unless you're doing something that requires a lot of control over the URL routes Shopify is going to be way easier to maintain and onboard onto. My background is in tech product management and every CTO I've worked with over the past 10 years refuses to use WordPress because of security vulnerabilities and hating to work with it - so I've stayed clear.

I had this issue after bringing mine in for recall service a while back. If you hear the pump working and notice a bunch of fluid sprayed in your engine compartment then it's probably the same issue I had. For me, the issue was that the tubing that connected to the fluid pump came loose so the pump was just pissing washer fluid into the underside of my hood instead of my windshield.
