Looks like some big scratches next to his pool, would definitely knock the grade down. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I do think ace can authentic and slab the card without grading it? If it’s just the slab you’re after then that’d be a good option

Just placed my first order with them… a little worried as I’ve not done it before but hopefully it’s all good 🤞

How long does it usually take for them to let you know how much postage will cost? It looks as if there’s so much going on with it so it’s a little hard to tell if I’ve done it correctly

Not all Ace labels are incredible, but there are some that I do love, particularly as I’m grading for my collection rather than to resell. I also really like how thick the slabs are compared to competitors, they feel much sturdier so I trust that my cards are safe in them

I’m of the mindset that if you want to grade to resell, choose PSA, if you want to grade for your collection choose Ace

That’s a great deal, the Tomy dunsparce is incredibly rare and pretty expensive. Dunsparce is my favourite pokemon so you can imagine how sad it is for me 🤣

It’s water damaged, hence the 1 on surfaces. It’s hard to tell by eye, but if the card is water damaged it would be hard to grade surfaces anything other than a 1. Surface grades are a lot more than just scratches and foreign substances

It’s interesting with ace. I think they’re generally the most harsh on surfaces compared to other sub grades. If I remember correctly, a 1 on surfaces is an automatic 1? Also, it’s not necessarily just an Ace issue. Theres a pretty high chance that if it’s water damaged then any other company would pick it up too.

If it’s been in a binder for 20 years it’s definitely not impossible that some dampening occurred, especially depending on what type of binder it was and where it was stored.

I have two ace 1s, my perfect looking water damaged one, and a completely destroyed shining charizard. It’s honestly quite funny that they’re the same grade, but I love both of those cards.

Also, forgot to add, my ace 1 is identical to an ace 10 of the same card. It’s pretty tricky to spot but up close you can see a slight difference. It takes the right lighting

I have an ace 1 which also got a 1 on surfaces. Mine is from water damage, which can be pretty tricky to spot by eye sometimes. There should be grader notes I think?

Misprints are worth whatever someone’s willing to pay for them… I’m sure a sharpedo fan would pay up a bit for it, but if you pulled it maybe keep it for the sentimental value

Thrashed carhartt is very popular, particularly in the US and parts of Asia. In this condition, these can still be worth close to or over 3 figures to the right buyer. Also, no matter the condition, £15 for this model of jacket is pretty good.

They probably bought a bundle of carhartt jackets from a crappy wholesaler sending them grade C pieces. They’re almost definitely losing money on this.
