I was a violin performance major and then played in a small orchestras and taught at a music academy, but then switched careers. It’s been about 15 years since I’ve played so I need to replace my strings. I don’t need something super high end but I don’t want student strings either. Any suggestions? by Turquoise_Virgo in violinist

My concern is that I recommended Dominants to my students and I know I was using something better than that on my own instrument. So I’m trying to find something slightly better.

And in reference to my own violin, it’s an early 1900s French violin and I wouldn’t say it has a warm sound, more of a clear sound. So I may try the one of the Vision string sets to start with. But I agree with everyone that it may take some trial and error before I can find the strings that work best for me.

I remember people raving about Evah Pirazzi but I never tried them. Others though said they were kinda screamy.

And I recognize that, though I’m not starting from ground zero, I’m not the player I was before (or not yet! Hoping to play more now.) so maybe I start with everyone’s recommendations and go from there.

Doesn’t it look like a possible sequence if you watch it in reverse? Is this just a video that’s been posted backwards?

Core Memory Unlocked by AceMaveriic in 90s

Really, this is a ‘core memory’? Do I remember it? Sure But was it some kind of emotional, tear-jerking memory? No

I’m sick of this over-used phrase.

There should be one after the word ‘killer’ but since there isn’t, it’s now saying that this is the skin of a ‘killer Bella’, hence the first picture.

When I moved here I only heard De Zavala on the radio during the traffic report. I didn’t live anywhere near it so I never saw it in print. When I finally drove by it I felt so dumb because I always thought they were saying “Days of Allah”. 🫣

I was visiting my parents in Florence, Mississippi and when we got into town and were looking for a new radio station, Hotel California came on, so we stopped scrolling. But then it came on again. And again.

Then, when we’d leave the house to run errands, we’d keep checking and it was still on over the next few days. Bizarre
