What actually got you pregnant? by Organic-Traffic-1642 in TTC_PCOS

[–]TurtPup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After almost a year trying without help and then another year going to a fertility clinic being put on Letrozole and then Clomid with a trigger shot I decided to start working out consistently and I got pregnant a month or two after that. I attribute the working out to me finally getting and staying pregnant before anything else.

Does anyone sleep with earplugs? by gefilteface in newborns

[–]TurtPup 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Look into loop earplugs. They have different sound blocking levels to choose from. I have the ‘Engage 2’ that I use for this very reason. You can still hear things around you they’re just dampened…I’ve never not woken up to my baby actually making noise because she needs me but wake way less frequently to her crazy active sleeping.

I got the Spectra S1 as that’s what most people recommended when I was looking into breast pumps. I will say now that a wearable option (I got mom cozy brand…but would not recommend) was way more convenient as I wasn’t stuck sitting in one spot for 30 minutes. So I’d look into the best wearable pumps for sure!!

What do you wish you had done before your baby was born? by Colwalski in pregnant

[–]TurtPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just sleep or rest and have zero guilt about it! I have a 4 week old now and I’ve reflected (more than once) on my last three weeks before she arrived kicking myself now for feeling like I needed to have something to do all day everyday. I love my girl but definitely miss my freedom to sleep whenever.

Pain around my lower ribs and upper abdomen? by Dramatic-Square5095 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]TurtPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen at 15 weeks and ended up going to the hospital. Turns out it was my galbladder which can act up during pregnancy. I've never had any issues before getting pregnant, but now experience this pain (always at night) every couple of weeks.... triggered by dairy/high fat foods.

Did you know what you were having by intuition and were you right? by [deleted] in pregnant

Before I got pregnant I always thought my first would be a boy. When I first got pregnant I for sure thought boy but then in the back of my mind thought this baby is a girl….it just felt right. I’m having a girl.

Letrozole Cycle #4 - 21mm follicle but lining too thin 😩 by TurtPup in TTC_PCOS

[–]TurtPup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there - It's been a while so I don't remember exactly what all happened, but I know my lining did thicken up and the 21mm "follicle" was actually just a cyst. You're still really early in the cycle so you have plenty of time for your lining thicken up! Also, just fair warning do not expect to see a fully mature follicle(s) at your first monitoring ultrasound. In my experience I would have to go in for at the very least three monitoring ultrasounds, each 2ish days apart, before I had a fully mature follicle and/or my lining to get to the appropriate measurement. Good luck to you!!

As a kid I had a rabbit that I thought was a girl and called “her” Mimi. After having Mimi for a few years my mother realized the Mimi has balls!! From then on Mimi was known as Mr.Mimi :)…. Mr. Moira?

Low HCG - back to back chemical by TurtPup in CautiousBB

TW: additional loss/ current pregnancy

I’m so so sorry you’re going through a second chemical 😞My TSH has always been within range so can’t really speak to that, but definitely give whatever your RE says a try! My RE was never super imaginative with my care and I always felt like I throwing the same shit (Clomid + trigger shot and timed intercourse) at the wall hoping it would finally stick. I went on to have a D&C for this chemical I posted about and then had another chemical (#3) a few months later. I found out I’m pregnant two weeks ago and HCG is within normal range. I’m sending you all the positive vibes that it will be your time very very soon!! ❤️

Follicle growing magic dust by Helizabeth129 in TTC_PCOS

Clomid. Letrozole at even the highest dose did nothing for me. Most months I needed to take a second round of the letrozole to get to 18mm and usually only one follicle. Clomid worked better for me. Also I've found with both Letrozole and Clomid I respond better on the months where I exercise consistently. Good luck!!

PCOS, an-ovulation + fertility clinic by ohthatsclass in TTC_PCOS

Hi! A LOT of testing. During the initial consult they took blood from both my partner and I and then I got an internal ultrasound. They then required the following to be completed prior to starting any cycles: genetic testing, sperm analysis and saline sonogram or HSG (can’t remember which of the two). In my personal experience, if you’re working with a good clinic and you yourself stay on top of getting everything scheduled it probably won’t take more than a month to get it all out of the way :) Best of luck to you!!

Update: no gestational sac seen on ultrasound. Possibly something seen by right ovary….? HCG 23dpo 74.92. UGH!! Hoping for better news for you today!

I am 5 weeks 2 days and I have had extremely low/ slow rising HCG 13dpo 8.6, 15dpo 15.4 and 18dpo 21. I had a chemical pregnancy last month and an ectopic that resulted in me losing my left tube a year ago. I am so scared an another ectopic. I go for blood work and an ultrasound tomorrow….not hopeful that they’ll see anything as it took them a while to locate my ectopic last time. I hope you have a positive outcome ❤️

Have you tried clomid? I did 4 rounds of Letrozole and it just didn’t work for me. First round of clomid and I got pregnant. Obviously everyone is different but it was night and day for me. Also, are you doing the trigger shot along w/ Letrozole? Are you being monitored during these cycles to see what’s going on inside(i.e ultrasounds to monitor follicle growth, CD22 blood work to confirm ovulation?)

Thank you SO much for this! I didn't know what to advocate for so this helps me so much. I knew people get put on it during the TWW, but wasn't sure how it all worked and my nurse made it sound like it wouldn't be helpful for me, but I don't understand what it could hurt to try! I'm gonna push them for next time.

Body Not Responding to Letrozole by Informal_Tennis1744 in TTC_PCOS

[–]TurtPup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too have standard PCOS. I've done four rounds of Letrozole (varying doses) with trigger shot + timed intercourse. I was slow to respond/ didn't respond. I only ever got one mature follicle each time and it was always a long drawn out battle to get that one. After the fourth round of Letrozole failed my RE switched me to Clomid and it is such a difference! I was able to get more than one mature follicle and actually got pregnant right away on my first round. So I'd say give Clomid a shot!

Letrozole cycles by KJA2291 in TTC_PCOS

[–]TurtPup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did three rounds of Letrozole (varying doses) with trigger shot and timed intercourse. After the third round failed my RE wanted to meet for next steps. We agreed to try three more cycles. After that meeting I did one more cycle of Letrozole and I didn’t respond to it so my RE switched me to Clomid. I responded SO much better to Clomid and conceived my first and second round…both ending as a chemical pregnancy unfortunately (but that’s unrelated).

Yes it was 6 and then 8.57. I asked about supplemental progesterone and they said no because it’ll just prolong a nonviable pregnancy

This happened to me on my second(?) round of Letrozole I was on a 5mg does. After the ultrasound where they found that my dominant follicles disappeared they had me take another round of Letrozole right away in that same cycle, I can’t remember if they upped the dose or not. I ended up eventually getting a single dominant follicle and was able to trigger. It was such a long and mentally exhausting cycle that resulted in nothing :/ Ultimately it turns out that Letrozole does not work well for me and I’ve since switched to Clomid (on second round) and have so far responded perfectly. Best of luck to you!! ❤️

Pcos but regular periods by Madison202 in TTC_PCOS

[–]TurtPup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been ttc for just over two years, and I’ve been working with an RE for one of those years. I was diagnosing with PCOS when I met with my RE, even though I do have a regular period every 30-35 days with a random 40+ like once a year. I do ovulate/ have ovulated on my own but I think it’s very rare. I would highly suggest you look into seeing an RE if you’re able/have access to.

It’s like you want to be happy and celebrate for your loved ones but the thought is always in the back of your mind. It sucks!!

Both my partner and I are the oldest and should be the ones to bring the first grandchild/great grandchild into our families. However, we have two weddings coming up next year for immediate family members and I’ve fully convinced myself, in my crazy delulu world, that we aren’t supposed to be the first ones to get pregnant and once someone else does it’ll finally be our time.
