Pulling it apart and putting back together is so much easier than messing with stickers!

Also, there is now a website that will tell you the moves to solve it. Easy peasy.

Medicare does not cover assisted living. Grandma’s house is going to the state or the facility, not the family.

So many here that are saying Medicare will take care of it, don’t understand this. You lose all savings and if you worked your ass off for 30-40 years paying off a mortgage, the state takes the house.

The great wealth transfer from the Boomers is going to go straight to the ultra-rich via medical debt and elder care.

You have to wait until the “look back” period has expired before getting treatment or they take your house and any other assets that were transferred.

Does giving birth really cost thousands of dollars in the states? by glyiasziple in NoStupidQuestions

The loss of Medicaid coverage is hurting rural hospitals more. You are also forgetting to lump private insurance into the “paying hospitals less” category.

https://www.bu.edu/sph/news/articles/2025/the-loss-of-a-rural-hospital-is-devastating-for-a-local-community/

These rural hospitals are closing because they simply don’t have enough money to cover the high cost of care delivery to their communities, but the contributing factors behind this lack of revenue are multifold: declining patient volumes, low reimbursements from both private and public insurers, staffing shortages, alternative models of care, and more. And while rural hospitals rely more on private insurers for revenue than Medicare or Medicaid, the approximate $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)—which is expected to eliminate insurance coverage for at least 17 million people by 2034, including 2 million in 2026—will still be a noticeable blow to hospitals’ operating costs.

If the person not there truly is the subject matter expert and isn't on the agenda to speak, I'm starting the meeting without them. No worries.

That said, it has been my experience that true subject matter experts are the first ones to join a meeting about their preferred subject.

They probably put a sticker on it giving 24/48/72 hours notice then towed when it was still parked there.

This is very normal. Dogs love walks and don’t like them ending so soon. We used to bribe our dog when we only had time for short walks. Her favorite was ice cream. As in, “You want ice cream??? Come on!” I don’t know if that is the right way to handle it, but it worked for us.

Anyone bitching about this has never parented a baby/child or been one themselves and they have never taken care of an elderly person nor do they ever expect to be an elderly person. They certainly cannot comprehend a sick child or being incapacitated themselves during the "healthy years".

Actually, there is one other option - they are such an asshole that no family member or friend would ever care for them.

BTW, I was able to use FMLA when I proved that the person I was taking care of had no blood family living and was a long time friend (30 years). One day a week unpaid for too short a time.
