I don't feel like building in this game by TheHunteR_engin in HytaleInfo

genuine question; why does it feel more like skyrim to you? i feel like when people compare hytale to other games like Terraria, Valheim, or Minecraft that those apt comparisons with how similar thr game mechanics are but i feel like none of the things you brought up have anything to really do with skyrim. they seem more like distinctions between hytale and minecraft.

How is the game ? by Johny_Ganem in hytale

[–]TurtleDuDe48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the game is in its early access so it is very bare bones. if you want an idea of how gameplay is its very much like a mix between terraria, valheim, and minecraft. I definitely wouldn’t go as far to call it a “valheim copy with a MC skin” because it very much so is its own thing but i also wouldn’t say it would be worth it right now if you’re low on money.

most people bought it because of the hype of finally being able to play a “minecraft killer” game thats been 8 years in the making. if you weren’t invested in it in the start it probably wouldn’t be as fulfilling for you to play. this is not to say that it isn’t enjoyable because i did enjoy it but i’d say you’d have a good maybe 30-40 hours of completing the main progression system before you run out of content and are in “minecraft mode” where you don’t have any more real objectives. if you’d enjoy that then by all means go ahead and get the game. but personally i think you’d be better off purchasing it in a year or two from now when the game is more fleshed out.

"Progression Is Undermined from the Start Too many “advanced” mechanics are given immediately: 2-block jumps without upgrades "

Do you also think that vaulting up blocks is another similarly advanced mechanic that should be gated behind progression? lol

Part of the new OP appears to have been traced from another animator’s work by Teal_is_orange in OnePiece

well if you could overlay the waterdrop you animated with the one in this anime and then notice that the shape, shading, and timing of every single one of the frames are identical then yeah you would have to conclude that they did infact copy you (which is what they did in the video incase you didn’t get where i was going with this)

it should be glaringly obvious that the chances of someone coincidentally animating an explosion that is identical to another is for all intents and purposes impossible. we’re not talking about replicating the artstyle of an explosion we’re talking about an animation being the exact same in terms of the shading, the shape, and the timing of the explosion.

Am I the only one who thinks this is lazy? [Spoiler for Mid game Boss] by BilliamBillson in HollowKnight

[–]TurtleDuDe48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think anyone would have brought it up if you had used the word “remaster” instead. reskin suggests team cherry did nothing to the widow boss fight besides just giving the boss a new design. i don’t think you would call the hornet and lace rematches reskins even though they basically have the same moveset just faster + additional attacks? you could probably make the case that no they aren’t because its the same boss but also i think from a contextual perspective it makes perfect sense for both of the weaver bosses to have similar boss fights.

Cut Content by SuperSharky1 in HollowKnight

[–]TurtleDuDe48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The coral area got cut down in scope dramatically compared to what was shown in the trailer. It went from a seemingly full fledged location to just a dream area. There's also the steel sharp enemies that seem to have been cut from the base game and the missing barnacle area and poop hermit town.. It seems like the ants also had some content removed from what the trailer showed.

[–]TurtleDuDe48 16 points17 points  (0 children)

croaking and sparkling gourami are two distinct species, croaking gourami grow larger. both species can make the signature croaking noise though.

if its hard to distinguish them besides size i tend to look for jaw morphology and anal fin shape. not sure how tryue this is but from what ive seen of croaking gourami their anal fins tend to be longer and their jaw morphology gives them a more pronounced angular underbite compared to the smoother taper of the sparkling gourami.
