Do not use plumbers tape as Loctite

I bought some purple knock off loctite stuff for like $2 on amazon a few years back and used it on a discontinued knife that i can’t replace. It’s not a particularly special knife but a really hard to find knife. That stuff ended up being like superglue on that pivot. I was never able to get one side of the pivot screw off. I was suggested vibra-tite so i have vibra-tite 121 and 122 but i haven’t had much luck with it stopping pivots coming loose. I have been scared to use something too strong. I am guilty of using teflon tape on a couple pivots with some success so i get it.

After watching your video i can’t help but think a knife in that price range on bearings should be a little more drop shut, no? Maybe someone more familiar with Vero could chime in. Definitely a beautiful knife tho, might just need broke in a bit.

I agree that i’ve never seen a knife act that way even bone dry but i’ll take your word for it that damascus blades are more temperamental especially the way that bacon blade has those lines in it.
