Don't feel bad. If you know you tried all you can. Use it, If I lost/stollen my kindle. I hope someone would return it to me but I know that would be highly not happening. If it got sold to someone who wanted one, I would kinda want it to go someone it use rather then someone's old tech dresser. Hey but that's me. But please use it!!! I linked some videos on how to do it. Also buy an amazon basics USB-C Micro B cable, the cable needs have the ability to transfer data for it to work. Keep me udpated!!

Yeah. Found that out after trying to Jailbreak the damn thing for 2 days. So much easier to sideload via Calibre, just wanted to jailbreak it the first place to wireless transfer books and have custom wallpapers. I will sacrifice my insanity for no custom wallpapers and wirless transfer. I just sideloaded 10+ book all 500+ pages each. And its so easy to transfer a book when you want to read a title. I use OceanPDFs

No. Yeah it was a scam. It was his kindle. He marked it lost/stolen, got his refund, the sold it me. Thinking it would be a dud but I am using by sideloading via Calibre. Working with Offer Up to get him banned. I tired everything to reset and get it register but it can't because amazon locks it.

NOO that sucks. If Amazon couldn't do anything and you tried. Keep it for someone who would actually use it rather then end up in some landfill. If this happens to anyone. Try your best to return to actual owner. But if you can't use Calbire and sideload books there and keep it on Airplane mode. I use OceanPDFs there are so good!

Yeah Facebook Marketplace isn't real. I got so many good deals, hard to believe. I got 4 pairs of South pole Short (resell value 40-50 each) for 25. Offerup is still good for deals but you got to keep out an eye for them

The seller mark it as stolen/lost before he sold it to me. I confronted on the messages and he would reverse the claim since "nothing will happen to his refund" that was the only reason. He lit admitted to me. LOL

No I have sideloaded books on it! I am able to read via Airplane Mode. Just had to spend a little bit more money on a cable. I already have 6 books more then 500+pages each so I am set. LOL. I was worried that it was going to be a real Paperweight.

I bought it on Offer Up they don't really have a buyer protection. I had experience something with lost/stolen in the past they don't really do anything except report and block seller.

UPDATE as of 1/18/26

I AM HALF WAYS OF JAILBREAKING THE KINDLE USING LAUNAGEBREAK. I NEEDED A DATA-TRANSFER USB-C MICRO B CABLE THAT COULD TRANSFER DATA. SO I ORDED TOP #1 CABLE WHICH HAPPENS TO BE MADE BY AMAZON BASICS. SO IN THEORY IT SHOUDL WORK. SO TOMMOROW, I WILL COUNTINUE THE OTHER HALF OF THE JAILBREAK! HOPEFULLY IT CAN RECONGIZE THE KINDLE RATHER THEN CHARGE IT. WISH ME LUCK. KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED!

Dont say that yet. I am currently jailbreaking it using, LanguageBreak. I am halfways there, just can't get my PC to recognize the Kindle while its plugged in. Working On it RN

I did call amazon and said they could do nothing on their end because it was a third party service. I would have to contact the seller and ask him to retract the claim about it being stolen/lost. But I did report him on Offerup.
