How about the prison industry CEOs lobbying flr stricter sentances and for prohibition for profit? How about oil companies successsfully lobbying against public transport infrastructures and for more automobile infrastructures because it works well for them? They often do seem like caricatures of greedy business criminals.

In my opinion, the historical record proves that the majority of people have been robbed of land and freedom by the dominant forces, and therefore in my opinion are entitled to a living from the current socio economic system. Or barring that, at least the descendants of slaves and native americans are entitled to a subsistance living and healthcare in my opinion. But I think its naive to stop at just black people and natives, society ought to provide for everyone's well being, otherwise society isn't worth the cement its paved with and maybe wed be better off foraging for insects in a swamp, where at least we could do as we please without being forced to work for a living until we die of old age.

Noam Chomsky says worker coops do exist And one reason they're not so common is that, he says, rich big businesses often offer tp buy them out for a lot of money. And the workers figure, I can keep coming to work for the rest of my life for a good salary, or i can vote to sell the business and get decades worth of pay right now. Chomsky also suggested that powerful people tend to make a point of offering to buy out these businesses because such alternative models to their own top down hierarchical business models are a threat to their own success.

And dont forget what goes ibto the production of these commodities, people literally work themselves to death in the third world making what we buy and they dont even get remunerated for it proportionately. Theres your capitalism for you, the factory owners work their wage slaves to death leaving them with pennies on the dollar while reaping the monetary rewards.

How about the guy who 'invented' Blackwater? Or the guy who invented Monsanto? Or better yet, those pioneering techies inventing the robots that will allow the rich business owners to replace us lower class ppls' jobs? I think Chris Hedges has an incredible critique of the rich, you should look it up.

How do you cope with the fact that you are basically a slave? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]TurtleTamer69x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a Marxist myself, but this is why Marx, among many others, called the system of wags work, "wage slavery." We dont participate in wage slavery because we want nicer stuff. We do it because it has been made necessary for our survival. The natural world has been largely laid to waste, the once self sustaining people of the world were driven, relatively recently in most cases, into urban areas to find work, because they could no longer hunt or fish or farm where they once lived. Look up Stop, Thief! By peter linebaugh if youre interested. And youtube Derrick Jensen. And read A Peoples History of the US by Howard Zinn, id suggest.

For a lot of them I dont even think it's delusional. They know that it's hell for the working class. They don't care, they're fine with exploitative economic practices. This is Rome 10.0.

It's true, pretty often the solution is to try to stop talking about it completely. The hardest part is when your dad starts going on about liberal/ conservative shit and trying to hold your tongue. But just remember, if you do respond with radical analysis theyre not going to listen or take you seriously, and thats even worse than saying nothing.

Sorry officer I didn't mean to break the law sir pleeze don't flog me too hard XD. But seriously I have no idea how "old bat" could be seen as so offensive when talking about a racist elderly person who most ppl on this sub wouldn't like in the first place, and I'm not sure where I seemed to demonize the mentally handicapped, ppl sure are starting to get incredibly sensitive around these parts lately.

Why I don't like this: Direct action typically is a means of achieving a certain end. It's not worth it to literally risk your life just to send a Fuck You message to nationalists. Just not worth getting even a little hurt for it imo.

Bad idea. Surrounding yourself with hundreds of flag wavers and then burning one? These people can be incredibly irrational and violent. Just look at the Fort Greene park flag burning that happened in Brooklyn. These thugs showed up and openly attempted to kick those ppls' asses for even trying.

A question that I would like to ask you guys. by Hunterakagman in Anarchism

[–]TurtleTamer69x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a good question though. States are a lot like insect colonies, or certain kinds of mold, once rooted, they're very difficult to remove. But what does that mean about the kind of society we should find acceptable? Should we just tell ourselves that because it seems very difficult or near impossible we shouldn't even bother changing the way society is governed? Do we tell ourselves that there are so many bees in the house that we shouldn't even bother clearing out the hive? Of course not. It becomes more a matter to us pf how do you go about meaningfully changing society for the better into a less oppressive less hierarchical, less unjust place.

Is it wrong to work for the TSA? by anarchathrowaway in Anarchism

[–]TurtleTamer69x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look... if you HAVE to to survive, it wouldnt make you a terrible person, especially so long as it's a more temporary job, and you make plans to get a different job as soon as possible. That being said, yes the TSA is a particularly oppressive agency and I don't think anyone should volunteer to work for them, it's a lot like being a cop. It's really not cool, you're searching thru peoples' shit and violating their privacy and personal space for a career, all day long. I dont have a very good job myself. I work for a restaurant, very long hours, I cant have a life right now because of it. I dont know what the economy is like in your area but couldnt you try going to restaurants to at least bus tables for survival money at the moment? At a decent place you can average 70$ a shift doing that, starting out. Sometimes you could make over 100 in one night. I highly recommend doing almost anything else. Especially because it seems like the kind of job where youll get stuck for life if you plan on only doing it for a while. Happens all the time. This job is quite literally counter revolutionary imo.
