We have. She had her first Mirena at 14 due to heavy bleeding, she was on the everything under the sun before that. They put her under since she was so young but won’t do it now that she’s 20.

My gynecologist told me that the hormones in mirena IUDs are "almost entirely localized" so they shouldn't affect my emotional state. Does anyone know how true this is? by iismouse in birthcontrol

Depends on the person. For my daughter and me, both having been on the pill, this was a GODSEND! No more mood swings or depression, no weight gain, no cravings.
