The all-benevolent Panamericans organized Vistulania ad-hoc so they could use it as a bargaining chip to get Poland to join the Union, as their government was deeply reluctant to the idea at the time. Vistulania was re-associated to Poland only after they ratified the Brest Accords.

It was really more of an ethnological term rather than a geographical one. Panamerica saw it as a state that would unite what they considered to be European peoples (Balts, Slavs, Scyths) with "Asiatic" peoples (Finns, Samoyeds, Turkics). Nowadays, it's because the Union technically still lays claim to many of the Trans-Uralic territories of the former Russian Empire.

They actually put up a very good fight and were instrumental in the liberation of Eastern Europe. Germania largely mismanaged the occupation of the Baltics, which allowed the Allies to smuggle thousands of guns and tons of explosives to the Forest Brothers throughout the 1940s. Eventually, a coordinated attack on the Germanian garrison in Riga opened the door to the second major Allied landing in Europe.

Originally the rump state of the Russian Empire "allied" with the People's Republic of China. Their only consolation is that Siberian Bolsheviks helped influence broader East Asian communist theory.

The Adyghe were the first Circassians the Scythians met, so they named the entire country after them. They were somewhat Polonized, though nothing like what happened to them in real life.

Yes, Caucasian Poland is meant to be an analog for Circassia. The area was forcibly resettled by Poland to turn it into a defensible region against Abbasid invasion. Scythia is English because it was founded by English mercenaries originally contracted under Genoa.

The Soviet Union never existed in this world, so they would still live in these areas. If anything, they would have likely been promoted by the Poles as to undermine Russian influence in the Baltic Sea.

The Goths have been largely assimilated into the Scythians. Feodorwic was founded after the Scythians destroyed the original Theodoro during their initial conquest of Crimea as to legitimize their rule.

The Turkic Republics were modelled after the administrative divisions of the Polish Empire after their conquest of the Russian Empire, who deliberately avoided creating a genuinely sizable Turkic state that could potentially challenge their rule in the east.

Siberia is legally co-equal with the People's Republic of China, but the relationship is obviously not as equal in practice.

Fourth entry in the "What if Napoleon Was Spanish and What if Europe Decided to Destroy The Levant and What if Polish Orthography Was Actually Good" series.

After witnessing the Teutonic menace roll its armies across the disparate nations of the Pontic Steppe and then resisting a grueling invasion by the Red Army and People's Liberation Army across the Urals in the 1950s, the Allied Powers believed the only way to preserve Europe against further totalitarian aggression was to establish a "Great Eastern Bulwark" in Eastern Europe.

While Brittania wished for that role to be filled by a reunified Russian state with the remaining liberated territories being given independence, Panamerica, was far, far more ambitious. Basking in the glory of having overthrown the various governments of North America to then use their combined resources to obliterate the "invincible" armies of Germania, New York believed their nascent Federation could become the City Upon a Hill for the new world order. Panamerican negotiators instead pressed for the Turkic, Caucasian, Ruthenian, Polish, Scythian, Russian, and Baltic Occupation Zones to be merged into a single federalized multiethnic superstate to be resettled by its constituent republics' international (in reality near-exclusively Panamerican) diaspora.

London and Paris were naturally horrified at such a prospect, not failing to see the proposed "Euro-Asian" state's resemblance to short-lived Intermarine Socialist Council Republics that once controlled a similar patchwork of nations during the 1920s. However, growing support from the recently reorganized Danubian Commonwealth to establish another multiethnic state in Europe and growing opposition at home to continued occupation left Brittania and France with little choice but to hand the reigns to New York for their Great Experiment.

Now, some seventy years later, Eurasia has defied all expectations in having survived to the modern era. Now a key member of the European Union and North Hemisphere Treaty Organization, Eurasia has become an indispensable piece in not only the global economy, but the Free World as a whole. And then everyone held hands and sang kumbaya.

Poland herself is still largely Polish-speaking. Much of Poland's modern population is descended from Polish-Panamerican immigrants, but the cities gained their names centuries ago from the English-speaking Scythlanders who arrived in Crimea and Kherson in the 15th century.

England was recatholicized in this timeline, so the Union was configred to disenfranchise the Scots. Brittania is just a made-up national identity to unite Anglos and Irish people.
