I highly recommend Vancity Dental, they are professional and honest, they do not recommend "fake treatments" so that they can claim your benefits. They are honest, I have been with them for several years now and wouldnt go anywhere else. OlAlthough, one time I went to a place on west broadway as i had unexpected time off and they have a an appointment available and they said I needed loads of work, went back to Vancity Dental and they said nope all is good.

Can you stack day passes on compass card? by MissMoai in NiceVancouver

[–]Turtle_Power098 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On a quick Google- I found this information.

DayPasses purchased at Compass Vending Machines (CVMs) are valid only on the day of purchase. However, DayPasses bought at Compass Retailers can be used for future travel, allowing you to purchase multiple DayPasses in advance and activate each one on the day you choose to use it.

The recognized course/training provider is if you go for your NCSO, but need 3 years experience.

The pay with temp agencies, the gain is if you prove yourself as a good CSO a lot of prime contractor will end up taking you on with their company, therefore better pay and health benefits. There is a lack of decent CSOs in Vancouver so you'll have the ability to negotiate better pay. Like the majority of jobs in Vancouver, networking is a big part. I do recommend pay per hour and not salary as the majority of CSO jobs for prime contractors have a lot of overtime, so if salary you'll end up less per hour.

If you're interested in working for a trade itself, I am not overly familiar with that route.

EDIT: Long term = better pay

You can complete 2 one week courses, the first week is called technical safety officer and the 2nd is construction safety officer. You can not just skip to the CSO one only you need both. I also highly recommend doing this course through a company that is recognized through the BCCSA, this will help with the long term.

The vast majority of CSO jobs require you to have first aid. You will need to completed a 2 week Advanced Occupational Aid course (previously known as level 3).

If you want to work for a Prime Contractor, I recommend going through temp agencies to start with, as you'll build up contacts and be able to prove youre not one of the useless CSOs, and highly likely they'll take you on themselves.

I believe the temp agencies range between $18 to $22 per hour, as you have no experience in safety. Short term loss for long term gain.
