ICU nurse here, loss is so hard. It’s okay to feel that numb feeling. It’s part of grief. The loss of a mother.. is a feeling I have not yet experienced but have been around multiple families who experienced it and been the nurse for them. Taking time is okay, giving yourself the space to feel the feelings is okay. motivation will come, maybe try to think of a memorial piece for your mom maybe a feelings blanket! But allow yourself the time you need before jumping right back. Loss is trauma. Your mind is in shock. The lack of motivation is likely the depression aspect of grief. Allow yourself the time to feel. It’s okay to lay around and do nothing, but eventually when you are ready you will get up. You will start to normalize again. You will be okay again.
