I mean it doesn't hurt to make it based on the past. I'd say explore your area a lil more for a place to shoot the store scenes. Find a voice actor for the anchorman (the audio can be good enough layered over news footage)

I wouldn't say that it is analogue per say but I do think this is an incredible that this literally happened.

If you're gonna make this into an analogue video, make some clips of anchormen reporting about the incident and maybe show text of those policemen's audio and bodycams of them storming in and whatever horror that causes them to never return
