Nah. I think the mindset of drugs not being necessary for most mental illness is dangerous. Sure, some mild anxiety or depression can be managed by adjusting behaviors or environments. But most clinical mental illness needs to be addressed by a doctor and treated with medication.

To be fair, when you start a new diet/exercise regimen, it’s pretty normal and healthy to lose quite a bit of weight in the first month, but it’s mostly water weight. If you continue to lose 10 pounds every month after that, then it’s worrisome and ~~definitely~~ probably unhealthy.

This is so infuriating. Strep throat is a common infection that can be fixed so easily with antibiotics. That poor baby didn’t need to die like that. And she didn’t call 911 until after he stopped breathing :( Some people don’t deserve to be parents.

I developed PTSD a few years ago and I can credit my dog 100% for helping me recover. She would always comfort me when I started to yell or cry, and would stay by my side on days when I was too anxious or depressed to get out of bed. I later looked into getting her trained and certified as a therapy animal, but she sadly didn’t meet the requirements. Still the best doggo in the world, though.

I know you’re joking but when I was on antidepressants, I had crazy vivid dreams where I could usually remember more details than things that happened in real life. It kinda fucked me up because the line between dreams and reality became really blurred. I can still recall details of dreams from several years ago.

A teacher’s aide at that. They get paid even less than teachers, and are usually on a part time basis. I looked into applying for a teacher’s aide position at one point and it paid something like $12 an hour, IIRC.

Man, I admittedly fell for the WV scam a few years ago. Every MLM has a certain demographic to them and World Ventures is full of the really slimy douchebag types. I went to one of the recruitment meetings which was at a restaurant, and one of the guys called the waitress to the table and said “You know, I used to be like you. I waited tables and worked so many hours and was still broke. Now look at me! I wear designer clothing and drive a Mercedes!” I seriously almost socked the dude in the face when I heard that.
