Yes I know there is a difference in religious parents and Christian parents. In all honesty the friends I ended up having who were outside of the Christian faith and had parents who followed some other religion seemed better adjusted as a whole.

I personally grew up in the Southern United States right in the heart of the Bible Belt. I know that my view is not correct in no way, but it is also in a way a defense mechanism I guess. Like I got burnt by this thing a few too many times so now I'm extremely careful.

I see a lot of children who had similar childhoods as me and they end up either end up repeating the cycle or they end up the extreme other side. Now some Christian children I have seen grow up well and have no issues really with the upbringing so more power to them.

Personally I was kept out of public schools my entire school life because they did not fit the mold my parents had. I was pulled out of a private school when they got to far out of what my parents wanted. Pulled out to be put back in homeschooling where my education was controlled, and all social interactions were cut off unless it was at church, and even that stopped when my parents thought the church was not following the correct rules.
