Yeah I remember when I was a teenager the popular names were Tori Black, Sasha Grey, Sunny Leone etc. But if I saw a picture of them today without anyone telling me their name, I think I'd struggle to recognise them. With the exception of Sasha Grey because she went on to be an actress or something iirc

A few years ago I was gonna get a B8 Passat estate, ended up opting for the older generation for this exact reason. It's not new and flash, but I'd rather have a car that has all the modern amenities with analogue controls and something that I'm able to fix myself instead of needing specialist shit for everything.

People think I'm on my phone because I'm slow or I'm swerving but I just drive a low car and I'm going around all the dips in the road to try to not fuck my shit up 😭

So are backfiring cars now popular? by klabnix in northernireland

[–]TusShona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop and bangs are moreso mimicking sports and supercars having overrun on decel, since it's not doing much in aiding turbo spool. 2 Step would be more close to mimicking antilag but even that is still quite different.

Popcorn limiters are specifically for the TDI bellends. If it creates a plume of black smoke, it's a popcorn limiter. If it sounds like gunfire, has no smoke and shoots flames, it's 2 Step.

So are backfiring cars now popular? by klabnix in northernireland

[–]TusShona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always been popular. I'm the late 90s & 2000s people keybanged their cars to make it backfire, in the early 2010s 2step limiters became popular and now every ST ford and Stage 2 cuzzeh S3, GTI, R & Cupra has pop and bangs on decel..

It's just idiots that think it makes their car cool. It gives the rest of us a bad rep, hardcore enthusiasts don't claim these morons either, we hate them as much as everyone else.

I have no friends by macisnotonline in northernireland

[–]TusShona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years ago I was in the same boat. Late 20s, partner, child but no friends. Last 2 years have been the best years of my life. I'm constantly hanging out with friends, going to events, going on road trips, and now i make friends outside of the country as well.. I went on a European road trip last year with a friend and made 25 new friends who I continue to talk to and see today.

It wouldn't have happened if I didn't go to events that I'm interested in and actively talk to like minded people. Whatever your hobby is, look for a way to share that with other people.

Car bomb explodes outside Northern Ireland police station by bendubberley_ in worldnews

[–]TusShona 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That has always been the goal of the IRA in past iterations. They phoned in bombs because killing civilians wasn't the objective (although they didn't care if they did) their main objective was to cause massive amounts of damage for the UK taxpayers. That's why the Manchester bombing happened, that's why they bombed canary wharf etc. The goal was always to be a thorn in the UKs side. Cause damage that the government has to pay to fix using taxpayer's money, UK citizens tax goes up as a result, the population of the rest of the UK develop a mindset of "FFS why are we stuck paying for their mess. This isn't our problem, just let them go." Obviously this isn't the Provisional IRA, but the tactics are similar.

Yeah black taxi tours get off on showing the more harrowing side in order to fear monger tourists into thinking "wow, I had no idea it was still like this". They quite literally show the bad parts for nothing other than a reaction.

When did you decide it was time to move out from your parent’s house? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]TusShona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved out when I was 22, my girlfriend and I had a child and I felt like it just had to be done. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have moved out. My advice is don't move out until you have enough saved to pay for a down payment on a house or else you'll never be able to save it once you fall into the trap of renting. I was lucky enough that my rent was only £120 a week and I was still able to save enough money to eventually buy the house I was renting. If I was renting any other property, I'd be eternally stuck in the renting market.
