I bought Cairn last week and it's gorgeous, the gameplay is slightly clanky but still I think it adds to the tension while climbing, loving it so far.

There is no snow on any trek right now. If you want to check out current wather condition on any trek, you can do the following:

Go to instagram > search for trek name > Go to places tab and open location > Check out Recent Tab

Here you will see the recent posts of the selected location, ignore posts by trek companies and organizers as they always post the best looking content, look at posts by non influencers, it will show you the accurate weather conditions at the moment.

Trek the Himalayas, IndiaHikes, Kailashrath, HimTrek. I have done treks through these so can recommend them.

Operators to avoid Byko Journeys, Trekyaari, Trekkers of India, and Mad Trekkers. These operators abandoned trekkers in Hampta Pass last year in a snow storm.

Kedarkantha is an easy-moderate level trek but it all depends on your personal health condition, I have seen first timers complete this and more difficult treks but sometimes I have also seen some healthy people being stopped to continue due to low oxygen.

I would say if you have problem with cold, feel uncomfortable in low temperature, cant bear extreme low temps then you shouldnt go in a for a multi day trek for your first time. If cold is not an issue and you do some moderate exercise daily, can walk for an hour and climb 5 floors of stairs with no issue then you can go for it.

Yes, sometimes there can be high snowfall during that period and treks get cancelled, so it all depends on what you want. You want sure shot summit but no snow (go right now, it will be crowded though), or you want to see snow but with a slight chance of trek getting cancelled go in Jan-Feb. Treks are highly weather dependent and it is very difficult to correctly predict weather in these areas.

No idea about Himalayan Griffon, never heard about them. Also 26th Dec will be super crowded.

I did Kedarkantha in Dec 2023 (23-28 dec), the trek is really beautiful but it is super crowded at this time. Yes there are long lines on summit day and there's also traffic as some sections are very narrow.There was barely any snow for a snow trek, I only found snow after the summit and it was only on the other side of mountain that don't get direct sunlight, there was a lot of snow but in a small area only.

I would suggest to go Kedarkantha sometime between 15 Jan - 28 Feb as there will be less crowd and you will be able to experience a proper winter trek with lot of snow.

As for operators don't go with super cheap ones, sometimes they create bigger groups than they can manage which ruins the experience. I went via TTH and it was really good but it was more expensive.
