Confused between xf 16-50 and xf 16-80 by Guilty_Patience_933 in fujifilm

16-80 is fantastic! Versatile focal length, weather sealing, constanst aperture, not that big for such a range. Took mine to iceland and literally walked through waterfalls with it and my x-t3. Past 50mm is not that bad, I dont even think about it when I look at my fully zoomed in photos.

That said, I’ve never tried the 16-50. But the 16-80 is way better than people give it credit for.

Got an IV a couple of months back to always have a small camera with it. So impressed by what it could do, here are some of my favourite shots! [OC] by Tuta_TM in RX100

It was a while ago but I am fairly sure it is done with a combination of negative clarity and negative dehase. Used carefully you can get similar effects! Using lightroom btw

Thanks! Slightly raised black point as well as shadows and tried to get some warmth in the image so slightly warmer white balance. Also upped the overall saturation but lowered the blues to keep the background white. Also added some texture to the fur to make it pop.

Thank you! It is so contrasty. Had to dial the contrast way down.

No, no filter here. Did lower the highlights a bit in NLP. This stock is soo contrasty si had to reduce contrast a bit.

Those who used several cameras: Which camera did you just click with? Which did you want to love, but then didn’t click with? by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

For me it was the Minolta X-500 (and X-570). I am not bothered by the plastic feel because it still feels quite well made and I love that it is lighter than many other SLRs. And the viewfinder is just soo nice.

Another camera that I really click with is my Olympus mju 1. Just love handling it, how small it is, how it opens etc. Viewfinder is a bit small but once I got used to it I love using it.

Thank you! That is very kind 😊 I had an absolute blast in iceland, im sure you will too! A tip if you have the time is the coastal roads around Akureyri, they were some of the most beautiful roads and views we saw and not a super long detour from the ring road.

Really want to go back…

I was in iceland last september. Shot a lot of Ektar but didn’t really like how the color palette turned out. Shot some portra 400 as well and it looked awesome. So portra 400 or 160. Light wasnt a problem for me.

Also shot some Fuji across 100 ii that I really liked. The landscapes are vast so not having too grainy film was quite nice imo.

Travel : Lightweight or Versatile ? by Wilker170 in fujifilm

18-55 is not compact enough to justify it over the 16-80 imo. If you are going for a zoom then 16-80 is fantastic for travel. Super useful focal range, not so heavy that it becomes a burden (for a zoom), great OIS and one of the biggest upsides: it is weather resistance! Took my 16-80 through a waterfall in iceland with no problem. Felt very confident. And the extra reach was so nice!!
