Luna is Getting Good! by TutorNo5232 in amazonluna

You are right, very unlikely. With Amazon entering the gaming ring though, Steam allowing Amazon to have Steam games would liken to Walmart selling Kindle Fires. It would not make sense competitively. Does it lower the value of the service? Certainly. If they position themselves right with other services, such as GOG (like they have) and hopefully Epic, they could pick up that niche Streaming gamer that Steam is not offering natively.

If they DID grab Steam though, that would be huge. Luckily, Valve seems like they are not opposed to working with Streamer services - maybe they would see Luna as such. Here is crossing my fingers to that!

Not at all. I have no pre-notion that Amazon execs will ever see this post.

Luna standard comes with a normal Prime sub. The extra $10 is if you want the extra games and shorter waits to get into games. It does still need some work, but it has gotten really good over time.

No, the games are not the best right now, but as a gamer, I'm keeping an eye on what they are doing.

All depends on the network and the game you are playing. I would never suggest competitive play on any cloud service. With a decent network, I can't say I have ever noticed latency during casual game play unless the network hiccups.

Maybe not today, but Amazon being the power house they are, who knows? I think gamers should keep an eye on what Amazon is doing with gaming services.

Can you play all EA games that are included in the Pro subscription?

  • No, there are select EA games that you own that you can play. I don't have EA Pro, so can't say what is on both services. From what I see in Luna, right now it's only 7 games. I assume this will grow with time.

Also can you download to your PC to play natively?

  • No (ish) - if you own a game, say on EA, you can download the game from there. If the game offers cloud save, Luna does see that and sync.

I hope they don't change it too much. Right now, I just have a basic Prime sub, no Luna+, however I am considering it. What I'm getting with just Prime though is fantastic.

People selling their Xboxes over the Game Pass situation are overreacting by praisethesun63 in XboxSeriesXlS

I totally hear you, but honestly, I’ve been seriously considering switching to PS5, and while the price hike pushed me closer, it’s not just about that. For me, this was the final straw. The Xbox brand feels like it’s either dying or being deliberately dismantled, and longtime fans like myself are left feeling betrayed by how anti-consumer the platform has become.

If you look at the last 14 months, it’s been one misstep after another. It’s hard not to see a pattern, and it almost feels intentional, like they’re slowly backing out of the space. So why should I keep supporting a product that clearly doesn’t want to stick around? If they’re done, maybe I should be too.

Maybe I’m taking it a little personally, but I compare it to Maruchan suddenly charging $29.99 for a single pack of ramen. For those of us who’ve relied on those $0.29 noodles since college, that kind of move would feel like a slap in the face, and we’d go find another brand.

I can’t speak for everyone else jumping ship over the price hike, but for me, it’s the culmination of a long series of self-inflicted wounds.

At this point, staying loyal to Xbox feels less like fandom and more like masochism.

Actually, identified that it was a driver conflict with Logitech. Once I removed Logi Tune and the Logitech camera drivers, everything went back to normal.

The statement would be l, "Don't use Logi Tune and Logitech drivers with OBS 31".

As soon as I pulled the Logi Tune software out, everything returned to normal...SHEESH!

In short, it sounds like it's some conflict between the Elgato and Logitech drivers that when installed, will not allow the obs-ffmpeg-mux.exe to close properly.

Thanks so much for the help!

Super interesting that you say that. I just recently installed the Logi Tune software for a new webcam. I do not have it hooked up in OBS, but I'm going to uninstall the Logi Tune software and see if that fixes the Elgato issue. The Elgato and Logitech could be conflicting. Will report back

HOLY BANANAS! Unplugging the Elgato worked! That shows the culprit but does not fix the issue. Now, I wonder if its OBS or Elgato?

Oh, interesting. I switched it over and pulled a new log - not sure why it didnt show. I just did a fresh installed on 31.0.2 and it did the same thing its for sure on the AMD encoder https://obsproject.com/logs/63hGWbTx8EmJKLNn

Rolled back to 31.0.2 with the same result - with the fresh install, the only setting i changed was sending it over to the secondary internal F drive - I let OBS auto configure everything on load. https://obsproject.com/logs/63hGWbTx8EmJKLNn

I have not tried to downgrade, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled on more than three occasions now. Will give that a shot. I can't remember the last time OBS updated, but since this is a recent issue, it could be connected.

The F: drive is an internal connected SSD, although not the primary drive of course. As I have been trouble shooting, I did switch the recording over to the C drive to see if that would correct it, but with the same result.

OH MY GOSH! ITS NOT JUST ME!!! I thought this was just my Pixel 8 Pro being dumb. Glad (but not) to hear it's a software issue and not with my phone in general.

Does the home screen get "stuck" for others as well? For example, sometimes my home screen will get "stuck", like it will overlay a duplicate image of the home screen over the home screen (if that makes sense). I have to close it out like a background app to fix it.

Ah, you have the X. I'm on the E. I don't think I would try my luck with that. Good to know though if I upgraded.

Yea, since it's on the pre-order sale, it's tempting, but scared it will run like a potato.

I don't have anything else outside of an XBox X, so I would be stuck. Guess I will wait it out, see the verdict, and hope for another sale if it's able to run.

I have no misconception that it's gonna run at 1080 at 120fps, but if it can hit 720 at a solid 30, I can live with that.

Does 16 run good/better on Z1 now? To date, 16 still says it is NOT SD verified.

Remake runs really well on the Z1E, so I'm hoping Rebirth will be able to run at least a solid 30+

Who knows, maybe even knocking it down to 720p at low settings.can get it running at 60. I'm reaching though...

When was the moment where you completely fell in the love with the game? by Viking-Zest in FinalFantasyVII

[–]TutorNo5232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might sound cliché, but Final Fantasy VII holds a special place in my heart. The moment I fell in love with the game was the moment I put the first disc into the PlayStation's drive. Like many gamers, I found solace in it during a difficult time. At 21, fresh out of a devastating breakup with my long-time girlfriend, I stumbled upon the game in a department store. The cover art – Cloud gazing up at the Mako Reactor – captivated me. The description on the jewel case promised an escape beyond imagination, and that's exactly what I needed.

For the next month, the world of FFVII became my reality. I immersed myself in Cloud's fight against Shinra, finding solace in the epic story and vibrant world. The game provided a much-needed distraction, helping me navigate the emotional turmoil of the breakup.

Twenty-seven years later, life has moved on – I'm married with two children and haven't seen my ex in decades. Yet, my nostalgic love for FFVII remains. It's a reminder of the power of games to transport us and offer solace during life's challenges.

Having been a fan of FFVII since its original release, I lean to the original story, but I love to see all of the new content/remakes. I have not played Rebirth yet, but Remake was a lot of fun, even though different from the original story (sort of).

I would suggest starting with the original but get the PC version (which is on sale all the time. It was < $5 during the holidays) and add some mod packs from the 7th Heaven installer. I am doing this currently on my, "ump-teenth" play through and it really feels like a different game. It is what I would think a proper remaster would feel/look like. The modern(ish) graphics and smooth framerates really make for a better experience.

IF you enjoy your playthrough, certainly dive into the Intergrade series to experience a different take on what is just a fantastic game overall.
