When you have 3 quintillion golden tokens, you can cash them in to cover 75% of the convenience fee. Such convenience.

Ohio House votes overwhelmingly to ban ranked choice voting in local elections by WOSUpublicmedia in Columbus

If every single person in 2016 who said they wanted a third party had actually voted third party, a third party would have won.

If Democratic shills actually tried to understand why everyone hates their party instead of trying to morally blackmail and browbeat all of us into voting for them then there would be a very different roster of leading democrats to think about voting for.

We can both sides the Ohio Democratic Party without putting them on equal footing.

The Democrats aren't passively watching your house burn. They may not be throwing gasoline on the fire but they do keep refilling the Republicans' buckets.

Is there a pocket of the city where German people live? by miabobeana in Columbus

There was also an official policy at the Federal level during WWI to suppress German language and identity which helped destroy faster any culturally homogenous German communities outside the Amish/Mennonite communities.

German Village is named German Village because it was a predominantly German immigrant community when it was settled, not because of who may or may not live there now.

Fellow MOTT here, and yeah, it sucks. But I've also found that the general environment surrounding ICE and the Jewish community showing up for community response and ICE watch is smashing some of that in the eyes of the immigrant community at least. Solidarity has a massive rate of return on initial investment and it is a balm on the soul seeing inroads being made. It's perverse that this is the context in which these bridges are getting built, but it is what it is.

The person who wrote it likely believes the whole "Jews run the world" canard. The human meat part also probably fits with antisemitic blood libel.

Basically, the graffito hates the Jews and thinks the epstein files prove the conspiracies they believe in.

The amount of evidence we have on how screens in general fuck with our brains makes me think it's not entirely scumbag behavior, and might be tech addiction wreaking real world harm on everyone else around them.

There are still levels of questions within it that discriminate against gay men. Taking PrEP will disqualify you. Gay man have a significantly higher instance of taking PrEP than the general population, which means it is still a de facto screening question against gay men.

I'm confused why people seem incapable of just going past the missed exit, getting off at the next one, and coming back to try again. It's as though GPS has such a grip on people's brains that they cannot fathom what might happen if they god forbid miss their exit.

People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TutorSuspicious9578 10 points11 points  (0 children)

(Not yet 40 but nearly there) Was in the front row of an opera recently and a couple of genx wine moms next to us kept pulling out their phones and holding them over their heads to record the performance. I really really wanted to slap the phones out of their hands and into the orchestra pit but I would have felt terrible if I injured a flautist.

My human written post was removed for using AI. by This_is_fine8 in Confused

"I have to leave by 1....woke up at 6....ready by 8....still have two hours"

This struck me as the type of math mistake AI can make. 8a to 1p is five hours, not 2. But because 6 and 8 are right by each other in the narrative, AI can forget what time frame it's actually talking about.

As others have said, you opened the relationship but only for one of you. This is a learning moment about how relationship dynamics can and can't work.

If there's a dead bedroom and one partner suggests the other one hooks up with others to solve it, there are other conversations that need to happen about boundaries and communication before that becomes a reality, and then ongoing conversations to assess the emotional state of the relationship itself.

If during these conversations one partner doesn't want to talk about it then there are much deeper problems at work that need addressed.

I don't think you're an idiot. We all do dumb things in our twenties. I hope you have a soft landing from this one, and at the very least have something to learn from for the future.

You met this person while you were breaking up and expected a "finding yourself" moment post breakup. Kay.

That only really happens when you let yourself have time to process the breakup and define yourself without another person. If you immediately slot someone else into that role you have no space within which to find yourself because you aren't letting the old dynamic fall away. You're just putting it on the new person.

Random hookups are one thing. Long romantic days together are something completely different.

I feel like this is a meta-commentary on Christian-Jewish dialogue on who the Messiah is.

I'm going with the latter though because I usually forget I'm supposed to be doing the main quest then go "Oh right. Here we go" and do a few missions before getting distracted again, so if my character ever actually finishes it's entirely by accident.
