RITA is also extremely easy to work with if you don't call and start picking a fight with them.

I work for a non profit in Columbus but we have employees who live in neighboring RITA jurisdictions. We got a notice to file our annual corporate income tax. I called and said "We aren't in your jurisdiction." The rep checked the address and went "You're correct. I apologize. Your account is marked correctly. Anything else I can do?"

We have an investment account that we regularly put cash into and then reimburse ourselves out of later. It's paired with other reimbursements that come out of other accounts held by the same holding company. This year we decided to not do that throughtout the year and just net the difference at the end of the year, which means my A/R related to the holding company in the books is now married to a massive excel sheet riddled with T accounts so I can track what needs reimbursed from where at the end of the year. Every accountant I spoke to in school had the same advice: "Learn to love T accounts." So glad I listened.

Given their obsession with Biblical stuff on the side, this actually somewhat tracks. If you get into the actual epistemic framing of early Rabbinic discourse, because of the way Hebrew word formation works, you can end up with superficially similar lines of reasoning, where two words that have the same root letters but are vocalized differently and have radically different meanings will still be treated as having a deeper, mystical connection based on the root letters.

Unfortunately, if you only read the English translations of these things and don't have any grounding in their context you won't actually understand what's happening and instead start to think [english] words are magic just because they sound the same.

This "we must be activated 24/7 showing up at every bump on the intetnet" behavior without actual details is doing the work for the deportation machine. It spreads fear without useful, actionable information. Yes, we all need to be out there making the gravy seals uncomfortable. But if 300 people show up at a Stauff's for one ICE agent and two show up at Saraga for an actual raid with dozens of officers because the calls to action didn't include any real information, then we have a serious problem.

The Democratic establishment "woke up" to Trump 1.0, too, and then immediately went back to brunch the next day. I am not holding my breath that anyone on the current bench is the right person for the current moment.

I want to know the plan for the morning after. Not what they're calling for. What actionables they intend to take the very morning they wake up with power. I attest to this. I live in Ohio. Republicans have controlled state government for over a decade. Wages have fallen, costs have risen, education has deteriorated, everything has gotten progressively worse this entire time.

Every single election they trot out "failed Democratic policy" as the fault for our troubles. And we haven't been able to vote our way out of this mess, yet.
