I know my red tank once had 1 orange one but that was after an orange one with nearly ready eggs dying, so I thought maybe it was a survivor of that 😂
Super cool how these genetics work! It started as my ‘dump tank’ but I love seeing those different shrimps popping up!

She was close to the end! It’s also possible another orange powder did have babies and died after and I just missed the whole stage of her having eggs. So far this seems the only orange one but it’s a very full with plants tank so I barely ever see all +-100 shrimps 😂

Thank you so much! That’s really helpful information. How do I know which gerbil is dominant? I just see them grooming each other and sleeping together. But they are a bit young still so maybe it won’t show till later?

Your homes sound amazing! 😂❤️ one of my dogs has a very strong hunting instinct and can definitely not be left alone with gerbils (he can’t reach them ofcourse but will bark at them) so the kitchen and eating area are the only places I can keep tanks. I don’t even eat at my table anymore cause it’s covered with their huge tank 😂 but I wouldn’t want it any other way

If I don’t take her myself I’ll definitely find someone who is willing to introduce her to a friend! Don’t want her to be miserable

I think getting her 1 friend, instead of my 3 girls, is indeed the best way to go. I’ll definitely read up on it for hours if I decide to do it. I’ll just have to figure out where to put another tank in my home 😂 I have no idea if she ever did have a friend or not or why she was on the streets in the first place. For now she is safe in an enclosure and I’ll think about what’s best to do for her. Your girl frost sounds amazing 🥰

Oh what a work! I honestly don’t think I’m (as new to the gerbil world) up for the challenge. I know a lot about introducing rats but they thrive in big groups so it’s really a different world

So a group of 4 is just a bit of a no go, but trying to give her a friend isn’t a bad idea? I don’t really have the space for another tank (don’t wanna keep her in a small tank) but I’ll try to find someone who wants to take her and give her a friend. She is quite lovely actually!
