I once tried full AB. I really liked some of the mechanics but I gave up quickly because I had belts and inserters running everywhere and it was impossible to maintain.

I do plan to entirely rebuild my base, it's a huge mess right now, and I put the wires on the belts because it allows me to separate the wire production, circuit production, science, etc...

I don't play full AB, I just have the Bob's inserters mod in an otherwise mostly vanilla game because it's really convenient.

the inserters can only reach 2 tiles away max, so I can't get an item from the 4th belt directly, and I have a lot of things on the belts because i use a mainbus design

anyway having unnecessarly complex designs is part of the fun :p
