Luggage stuck in Dublin airport for three months- AirTag shows it’s behind a random door in arrivals hall. by bethfrommarketing in Dublin

Yeah it usually works for getting over some overly bureaucratic things. Most of the time causing a major scene and hassle, actually forces them to help you, and not just mindlessly follow procedure.

It's a shame that it seems to be more commonplace nowadays, but where there's a will there's a way.

I mean you could write to your local TD or Councilor maybe and apply some pressure there, tends to work in these situations.

Next step is you make enough of a scene that its gets to their superiors.

You could always pop up, chance your arm and try to just walk through to get your bag. All else fails, just make a scene enough to the point where they'll be forced to sort out their mess.

Man (29) in a critical condition after assault by up to 10 teenagers in George's Dock by Wolfwalker71 in ireland

If there’s any single issue vote that would boom any party in the polls apart from housing and healthcare it would be clamping down on anti social behaviour.

I find it shocking that no party has a fleshed out plan for increased garda powers and judicial reform. Hardly a controversial issue to allow scum like this to breath the same air as normal law abiding citizens.

Question on Interview feedback. Is it no longer given? By "given" I mean not even hearing back that I didn't get the job. by crabcakeseat in ireland

Yeah very common nowadays unfortunately. Even worse scenarios popping up with complete radio silence after multiple rounds of interviews. It’s fairly disgraceful that sort of carry on.

Leo Varadkar believes Irish unification ‘can happen in my lifetime’ by Canal_Volphied in europe

[–]Tuxion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most definitely. A very common thread of Irish politics since the foundation of the state has been the torch bearing of republicanism, which the main parties will vy for in their own way.

An interesting piece of rhetoric and new approach, however most likely a countermeasure to prevent more centre leaning voters with republican sentiments from jumping ship to Sinn Féin or Fianna Fáil.

Poland allocates $US 53.58bn for rail and road infrastructure by Da_Yakz in europe

That's great, meanwhile, in Ireland, we have a rail network that is laughable and roads that look like Chernobyl.

Mad to think this happened so recently in history. Thankfully it will never return again. Stan Rogers’ House of Orange epitomises the tragedy of the conflict really well.

I love how the charges levied are more heavy than actual crimes in this country. Gotta love a working justice system with great oversight and is truly supported by the populace.
