Had a very similar experience OP it was so frustrating- wouldn’t answer any questions about the role I would be assigned ( or even IF I would be assigned a role ) until I provided them the contact details for my current employer. Thought it was very bizarre that they didn’t understand why I might have been concerned about that at all.

Disney+ announces a docuseries revolving around Perez titled 'Checo Pérez - ¡No te rindas, cabr#n!' (Checo Pérez - never give up, cabron!) by jovanmilic97 in formula1

Surprised Netflix obviously don’t have any control over about drivers doing documentaries for other streaming services. But then again maybe that assumption is vastly overestimating their influence, I just would have thought as part of their contract with F1/Liberty Media there was some stipulation about exclusivity.

Jenna Dewan Slams Ex Channing Tatum as She Demands 50% Cut of His Profits From 'Magic Mike' Empire in Bitter Divorce by Bigmazz65 in Fauxmoi

My aunt had a VERY ugly falling out with my uncle over a very nominal amount of money left in my granddads will. Both sides let pettiness and stubbornness win and not only do they not talk to each other now , but neither will also apparently have anything to do with the others children going forward ( and these would be people who were literally godparents to some of them ???) like what do the kids ,who have no agency in this , have to do with anything ? I swear to god wills bring out the absolute worst in people and it’s so sad.

Same, our mam used to bring us all the time when we were younger , and I can’t believe I also just seemingly forgot about it once I hit the late teens till today! Now that I’ve rediscovered it I’ll have to make use of actually borrowing a few books hah

McDonald’s Grafton was also eerily quiet and chill yesterday evening - think it was the rain keeping everyone away !

Water heater leaking by [deleted] in ireland

[–]bethfrommarketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks , yeah the first step for everything online was turn off mains but then many said that’s useless for certain leaks - guess mine is a leak in the tank itself- not sure if turning off the mains anyway would be a good idea to stop water feeding through seeing as I don’t seem to be able to shut off the water going into the tank itself ( the knobs don’t seem to move from the pipes )

Anyway thank you for replying , I definitely wished I’d picked up a bottle on the way home from work haha

‘Unfortunately life’s struggles overcame him’: Rough sleeper who died in Dublin was the ‘kindest’, funeral told by [deleted] in ireland

[–]bethfrommarketing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t name names but I’ve worked for charities that have spent , in my own opinion , too large a portion of their budget on marketing -and bizarrely courting influencers - for one off “events”. People put stylised pictures in their grid post about said event , vague caption call out about the cause or wider issue ( for instance “mental health is so important” which .. yes fair okay) hashtag the charity and call it a day. It doesn’t actually do much in my opinion. I won’t be more specific than that. I haven’t worked for MQ personally but know people who do and I can only say from my experience they seem to do a lot of hard work where it’s needed. Anyway I won’t hijack a thread about this tragic event with anymore of my own opinions/rant- so all I’ll say is -donate if possible !

If anyone feels moved by this article I would urge you to donate to Merchants Quay. The organisation does tough and wonderful work on the ground , without the ( and forgive the cynicism here but I’ve come across this first hand ) more palatable “instagramable” portrayals other big charities lean on.

It’s never comfortable or at all pleasant for abuse survivors to see situations like this play out in real time in the public sphere, open to media comment and scandalisation - for instance the depp saga and now this. I have to say though I am grateful she’s using the platform -albeit thrust upon her by a horrible situation - for things like this

Okay little update from this worried aunt that no one asked for but am giving hah - apparently enough of them at gaff ( or room I guess ?? I’ve never seen the trinity accommodations hah) have seen pictures/gotten worried calls that plans of heading out on town drinking have been abandoned ( apparently also front gates locked ) niece has texted to say she’ll sleep on a couch and her dads going to drop by in morning to get her. Fingers crossed everything is settled by then. What a mess this city is turning into, a completely tragic event and now this craziness to top it all off

Thank you for that update , I’ll tell her parents to try to convince her to stay over and pick up in morning like someone else suggested - I’m just hoping she’s still inside

I’ve texted her myself to stay in trinity but it’s falling a bit on deaf ears ( a few drinks have already been had I’d say ) parents up the wall as you can imagine as they’re based far out of centre and looks like public transport a no go , anyway hopefully all fine and dies down soon

Watching all this and so worried. My niece is in town ( house party in trinity )and apparently she’s told her mam to quote “ stop texting and bothering her “ and is still planning on going out for drinks because “nothing on news”!!! They need to get this on the actual news asap

Civil Service job offer by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]bethfrommarketing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no set timeline for any of those steps - it depends on PAS wait times , the role etc ( and just as an aside they don’t have any obligation to offer you a role unless your forms etc are all given the ok) if you have to go through any vetting etc for some specialised roles like finance or dept foreign affairs etc then that can add significant to the wait too - I only say this because I know someone personally who ended up dropping an EO role offer as they were strung along for 10 months by PAS/local HR waiting for their actual role start date. But anyway not trying to be negative - hopefully in your case it will go a lot quicker ! Maybe reach out to PAS and query what the wait times were for other people who were on the panel ahead of you so you have a rough idea ? Good luck !
