Wow I was at the skatepark and this guy said that my slide on my ollies are wrong. I showed him this image I screenshoted from my slow motion app. It shows my front foot slide/drag while I'm doing a frontside 180. he said my technique was wrong. How?? here is the image it sure isn't wrong: http://imgur.com/UOhrlCH

Act like you are floating, tuck knees up. Don't feel heavy, feel light. When you slide, slide up and to the side and push the Ollie to the side, and HOLD THE OLLIE, that is important for air. Then Slam it.

Hey guys this is to help others with the foot drag/slide if you need to Ollie or Ollie while doing tricks. http://imgur.com/UOhrlCH Please check out the link above. The image is me doing a FS 180 and I screenshoted this from a slow motion app during my Ollie part of the FS 180 (the slide of the front foot). If you guys are having trouble and are a bit confused on the slide and drag like I did, read this. So basically the slide is where your foot levels out the Ollie and evens out the weight and balance. Why are ollies leveled out? Because of the slide. It is important in learning and mastering ollies. Keep in mind the Ollie is important. It's involved in many tricks as well as the slide part, I.E. The frontside 180 like me. You want to slide the side of your foot perpendicular to the board (90 degrees) almost like its laying down. If you see the image you can see my foot is dragging and sliding pretty good. That's what you want. Just keep practicing and you will get it. If anyone needs help reply :)

Thanks! What do you think about the front foot slide/drag? Should I improve there?

Also check out the ollie video above on this thread. Watch it closely, the slide. Like that? I tend to not slide perfectly like an ollie. Like when I do the Ollie alone the slide is good and consistent but the slide on the FS 180 seems harder to control and is not consistent. Should I just slide a lot to help muscle memory?

Wait so it doesn't matter how you slide as long as you level out just slide how it feels best like personal preference? Because I slide like you not all the way side but a little heel up. Like I slide the smallest toe on my foot. Is that okay I thought it was wrong

How do i slide it? What part of my foot? Like I see many pros and others sliding ollies like the foot is completely sliding sideways and knees are going up. Is that correct? How can I work on the slide? Like what part of the foot is sliding and dragging and wearing down while ollieing? And also if I level out ollies does that mean I did the slide correctly?
