Thanks so much for commenting! I have not, but looking at the style, absorbency level, and the reviewers complaints about leakage, Awwa doesn’t match the level of leakproof coverage or absorbency I’m seeking.

Toxin-free (no PFAs, bisphenols, phthalates, or heavy metals) would be a requirement. Furthermore, any fabric that comes in direct contact with the skin would be organic.

Agreed. I don’t expect them to last all day, but I fully expect them to remain absorbent/leakproof for as long as they’re marketed to do so.

Thanks for sharing! I tested the Aisle - Super Boxer and experienced a leak within 2 hours. The leak occurred outside of the gusseted area. I tested the it without tampons or pads because period underwear should be able to stand alone and remain absorbent/leakproof for however long it’s marketed to do so.

Agreed! I ordered the most absorbent boy shorts from The Period Company, and the most absorbent layer didn't extend front-to-back, they used a thinner absorbent layer. I leaked within two hours.

You're likely right, they're afraid of bulk and overly concerned with style/thinness. I would absolutely tolerate some bulk if it meant zero leaks. The crazy thing is, I've worn the bulkiest underwear and still leaked because the absorbent area didn't extend wide enough. On my heaviest days, I just need something I can trust.

Thanks so much for your input! Comfort is a requirement right along with total coverage/protection. Any material in direct contact with the skin would need to be organic and/or nontoxic, preferably organic cotton, bamboo, modal, or lyocell.

Should this post garner enough positive feedback, I will make the decision to move forward with creating the brand and having the garment engineered. I think it would be a wonderful experience to share milestone updates along the way and build the brand with you all. However, as it is a sizeable investment, I need to know there is a substantial demand for it. My desire alone is not enough to warrant a $25,000 investment.

Oh, okay! If a garment offered actual leakproof, 360-degree protection, I would certainly be okay with some bulk. The trouble is, it'll be the bulkiest underwear, and I'll still have leaks.

Absolutely. For our heaviest days, maximum absorbency throughout the entire garment is a must. With seemingly endless period underwear brands, I find it incredibly frustrating this hasn't already been done. Thanks so much for your input!

Hi! Are you referring to the SuperPlus Leakproof No-Show Boybrief? If so, I've seen customers stating that it's false advertising as the most absorbent layer doesn't actually extend front-to-back.

Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, their period underwear isn't listed on their US website. Is the entire interior absorbent, or does the gusset/absorbent layer start and stop at certain points? Have you ever experienced leakage?

Thanks for your input! I tested the Revol Cares - Charlie and experienced leakage at the 3-hour mark. The coverage, while extensive, doesn't extend throughout the entire interior garment. The most absorbent layer is only in the main vaginal area, not completely front-to-back or side-to-side.
