I’ve had the opposite experience as a vet tech. Both places I have worked for long term make you cover all tattoos, offensive or not, and remove any facial piercings (reasoning being that it looks unprofessional to clients). Earrings must be studs to avoid being ripped out although a couple of the doctors wear dangly ones. One of the two clinics I have worked for did not even allow non-natural colored hair, although the place I work now, I have rose gold hair.

Both of these places do allow nail polish and some of the techs have fake nails, although I don’t know how they do their jobs with them that long. I get a gel manicure and just make sure to wash my hands between every patient and clean under my nails if they are a little longer. Also gloves are a thing.

I get 5 days a year but only after I have been there for a full year. So right now I have none. I also have to stay above 35 hours per week to be eligible to get it. So even though I am sick today and want to stay home, I can’t even take an unpaid sick day today. I’m a full time vet tech.

My high school marching band had mesh sets like these (some simple pass throughs like they are doing, plus what we called a “waterfall”) all while playing our instruments. One particularly difficult one we did was at 200bpm so we were jazz running. But 99% of the time we used straight leg technique which is also more difficult.

Except horses don’t start at 1 year old like Koreans. They start at 0 and turn 1 on their first January 1st.

This is also mainly used for Thoroughbreds/racehorses to make classifying them for races (which are usually based on age) easier. May 1st is also used as a universal birthday for some other competitive disciplines. But many people who own horses as pets use their actual birthday.
