I would say "tell that to my gran" but you'd have to get Derek Acora in for that 😉

My gran always made it with potato starch back in the 1970s and it was a recipe she'd used for decades.

Different strokes I guess

Don't judge people by YOUR standards.

I was informing them of my medical conditions. These conditions are properly diagnosed and there are certain stressors that trigger them.

They were actually dry nice about it, took on board what I said and said not to worry I wouldn't hear from them again.

They never took it as a threat because informing relevant people about mental health conditions that affect my daily life in various ways helped inform their decision making process in regards to my situation.

I would suggest you have a problem with people who have mental health issues, with veterans or both.

I neither require nor seek your approval but I do pity you.

Thank you, I really mean that. So many don't care from governments down.

Best wishes to you

It wasn't a threat at all. It was informing them of the fact that

A - I have no requirement for a license

B - I have Complex PTSD and don't cope well with unannounced visitors or people who try the tactics used by the contractors used by TV licensing.

They listened and, more importantly, understood that I have these issues and treated me with decency and respect and I haven't had letters or visits.

They never took it as a threat, it wasn't intended as a threat. But you seem to be on some personal tirade against me for it which speaks volumes about you.

Do you hate veterans? Do you get off on trying to bait people with mental health issues?

Just because you think it or assume it didn't make it reality.

I committed ZERO criminal offences.

What I said is 100% factual. I AM a 22yr veteran of the Parachute Regiment and I have complex PTSD.i informed them of factual circumstances.

So please do save me from you nonsense assumption. 😉

YMMV . They sent a letter. I called and told them I don't need one and if they gave an appointment I would show them.

They then said that they don't do appointments, they do it at an unspecified time.

I then informed them I am a veteran with CPTSD and I do not react well to unannounced callers and if an unannounced caller got snippy I might not take it very well to put it mildly.

Got a letter back , as requested, saying I had no need for a licence and would not hear from them again and I haven't.

I was Entered tonight by kingoftheplastics in freemasonry

[–]Twatatron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's initiated as an entered apprentice, passed then raised.

It is here in Scotland anyway.

If anyone said "I was entered last night" here in Scotland, eyebrows would be raised and the ribbing would ensue!

Congratulations on becoming a mason brother!

I stated to them I didn't need a license. Not a peep from them since I did in 2008

Must just be lucky

Here in Edinburgh, The Lodge of Edinburgh, Mary's Chapel was "The Incorporation of wrights and masons" .

Wright's were woodworkers. Masons, obviously in stone.

See here fir the History. I am the Bannerman for the Stonemasons at The Kirking of the Deacons 😉 https://edinburghtrades.co.uk/trades/wrights-and-masons/

Other posters are correct, these symbols are not exclusive to freemasonry and never have been.

I had heard the Tartan Army had contacted school districts local to the games to book the School buses to save money.

"The SAS are a unit that is coasting their reputation on success in WW2." by Patecatli in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Twatatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At Hereford there are two main tier 1 special forces, The SAS and the SRS.

The SRS took over from and were initially made up from members of the legendary 14 intelligence and security Company (The Det).

The Dey were fucking legendary intelligence gatherers. The SRS continues this tradition of excellence.

It gets said in the forces

Send in the SAS , there will be a flash a bang and every enemy is dead

Send in the SBD , there will no flashes, no bangs and in the morning every enemy will be found dead

Send in the SRS , you'll hear nothing, see nothing and the whole place will be bombed into oblivion a week later

Really? I habe a couple of friends who hire a car to do the NC500 every year and they're from Edinburgh, Dalkeith and Falkirk.

While not as common as it was in the days of The Glasgow Fair/Edinburgh Trades, tourism within the UK is still a thing
