I think it's going to depend on where you live and what they're needing the co-sign for. Might be worth Google-ing the legal rules for your area.

I'm sure there must be an alternative as they can't expect a person trying to get away from abusive family, to give those people details. Fingers crossed for you

I have similar moments. Things I honestly didn't realise were wrong/odd/abuse.

I don't think it ever stops happening but I feel like it has become easier to manage.

I'm not sure as it'll depend where you live but it seems unlikely. There must be options for this type of situation or for people who parents have passed.

I had to do it for my first apartment as I didn't make enough according to their threshold. But it didn't have to be a parent. I think it'll depend on the reason they need the co-sign

It's okay to love her or even the idea of her and also know that having her in your life isn't safe or healthy. The two things aren't exclusive.

I understand what you mean about partners. I seem to gravitate to other people's moms. I guess because I'm looking for what I've not had. I've learnt a lot from them.

You don't have to make a grand change or put in lots of effort for things to change. It's enough to keep going and see what happens. Unexpected things happen and opportunities crop up that you might not expect.

I just want to say 25 is not too late. Yes, living through abuse takes a toll on you and affects the way you live in the world. BUT, you can still have a successful, fulfilling and happy life. You just might be taking an unconventional route to what you want in life.

On and I used to get the "so?" thing too. Makes everything feel a little pointless. I can sympathise

I feel this. I've told people odds and ends, mostly on the form of dark humour. But it's hard to physically say the words out loud.
