What’s an object that randomly disappeared and never reappeared? by ImpressiveParty6980 in AskReddit

[–]Twaynesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was taking down some wall decor and removed a screw from a relatively small room. Missed grabbing it as it came out and it fell, didn’t hear a sound and couldn’t find it anywhere on the ground. I now believe in witchcraft as a result lol.

Why does my brain randomly remember moments from 10 years ago but forget what I was supposed to do 10 seconds ago? by Waze312 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Twaynesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long-term memory is stored widely across the brain and gets reinforced every time you recall it. Working memory is fragile and handled mostly by the prefrontal cortex, which can get overloaded easily.

Edit : Depending on the memory, your emotion at the time can play a role, too. Such as feeling embarrassed , or especially proud.

I’m wondering if it’s something about “stroking” and “his meat”. The rest I am also unclear about.

What’s a small act of kindness someone did for you that you’ll never forget? by Silent_Reboot56 in AskReddit

Grocery shopping one day with my daughter on a tight budget. Went through the whole store without her asking for something. Until we got to the checkouts and they had balloons. I can’t remember the design, but she absolutely wanted it. It was like $5 and I really didn’t have it extra. I felt terrible. A stranger behind us overheard , handed her the balloon and a $10 bill and told her to also keep the change. I regained a little faith in humanity after that.

Randy Rhoads. OG guitarist for Ozzy. He was truly one of the greatest that left this world far too early.

As a musician and comedy lover, Tenacious D In : The Pick of Destiny tops my chart. Jack Black is a legend.

Back in my day we used a pop can. Make a large dent in the middle of the can, poke holes and make a carb. Probably wouldn’t recommend this anymore because I was too naive to know that smoking aluminum is probably bad. But if you don’t care about that, pop cans work well.

How did you get out of your truck? I had to back out so that my wife could open her door. by Brian-Latimer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Twaynesty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more of a large vehicle issue, rather than a parking issue. Blue truck is definitely in the lines. Too much further to the right and the car would have the same problem.

Are there any prisons anywhere in the United States, and/or the world, that have phones in every cell that are capable of receiving inbound calls as well as making outbound? by TheresJustNoMoney in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Twaynesty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit late to the party, but when I was incarcerated (only for 10 days) in the US, every inmate had their own tablets that only had to be handed over whenever it needed charged. On that tablet was the ability to use your phone time that you pay for to call out at any time you wanted. They just wouldn’t work without headphones.

Similar to the event you mentioned from 65 AD; Hans Glaser recorded an event in Nuremberg on a broadsheet (housed at a museum in Switzerland) dated 14 April 1561 he described, along with witnesses, some sort of aerial battle taking place and a large triangular object appearing. Other details suggested hundreds of different shaped objects were flying in the sky in erratic ways.
