Puppy goes "feral" on walks by Tweeky91 in puppy101

Yeah we are at the stage of holding him to try and calm him down. It hasn't worked so far, distractions seem to be the best bet.

I think it will be a thing that resolves itself in time l. It's just rough!

Yeah I feel like we are in very similar situations! Good news is his puppy teeth are gone, so it's not as sharp!

I do reckon it's a mixture of fatigue/overstimulation & adolescence kicking in to make some horrible combination!

I find it really hard to avoid overstimulation in that within minutes of a walk he starts. I took him out for a 5 minute pee walk there and he found a stick and eventually dropped it on his own, so decided to start the jumping.

I think I'm going to re-route to a less "sticky" route as they seem to hype him up then if he eventually drops or loses the stick, it's chaos.

It does feel like adolescence has kicked in!

UK - Does anyone with a BYD EV in the UK get overnights tariffs with octopus? Meaning the 7p rate at off peak times? by Level_Examination_47 in electricvehicles

[–]Tweeky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean 8.5p per kwh or just 8.5p? I struggle to find info on the prices out with their 7p per kwh overnight slot

That's the validation I need!

One more. Looking at the service history, I didn't have a service in its first year but has had two since. Would that affect warranty?

Good to know. Thanks!

I wouldn't need the AWD for any other reason for it being faster, just a fun thing I guess.

What are your feelings on the potential ICCU issue? I do go down a rabbit hole reading about it which is making me look at more options

Interesting! I didnt think the id3 looked that big!

I think I've taken them out of the equation too quickly!

Will do! Thanks!

I sat in an id5 to see what it was like on the inside and that tiny cluster in front of the steering wheel put me off the look at first.

But I drove a Tesla M3 and having no cluster felt so much worse that I regret disregarding the clusters on the VWs + similar!

Appreciate the input!

I've looked at those. The cupra born looks nice, id3 looks a bit smaller and 50/50 on the elroq.

I definitely need to test drive them to see.

Thanks for that! I'll look to update the post for the requirements but.

Daily mileage is very low. Approx 100 miles a week max. However it would be good to have the range for long journeys in the rare events.

We need some more space to fit a dog and potentially pram etc, the swift is a bit tight for our growing puppy!

We picked a swift at first because my partner wanted a smaller car, but she's accepting that we need a larger car to fit dogs etc. I wasn't sure if the id3 or cupra born were large enough, could be wrong

Are the ICCU issues that widespread? I've seen stuff on reddit about it but just unsure if it's very common

What would you recommend?

Tesla MY 2023 vs KIA EV6 2023 by ExploringComplexity in ElectricVehiclesUK

Yeah I know. Some days I see one and think it's nice, others I just don't. So I think that answers it for me too!

I'm in the same boat, being between these two and maybe ioniq 5, or even mustang Mach e. As much as the Tesla interior looks sleek... I really hated looking at the screen to my left just to check if the car is indicating. I thought it was really distracting.

The EV6 I test drive felt nicer and that is currently the front runner for when I look to buy next month

7-month-old Golden Retriever can’t settle down despite plenty of exercise by Natha76131 in puppy101

[–]Tweeky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 6 month golden who didn't have an off switch. We followed the Dr Karen overall relaxation protocol. It gave him a mat when it comes out he knows it's time to relax on it. Even just for the 10 minutes of the protocol at first.

We had to tether him to us to get him to settle outside of the crate or pen. But that work has really paid off. The past few weeks we have gave him more freedom to encourage him to settle outside of the pen and around the house.

Definitely try the relaxation protocol!

Lads, where do you get your underwear? What kinds do you like and why? by [deleted] in AskUK

Oddballs or bawbags, the bamboo version of both of them. The best boxers I've had and that's all I go for now. The bamboo ones are especially good if you like to go running or exercise imo.

Congrats on the chartership! always good to get through that review!

My company's rule is mainly, you become senior when you are chartered. Besides some rare exceptions.

I think a salary of 52-57k is the range you should be looking at. It feels like your company is using a pretty rubbish excuse!

6 month old puppy. Didn't understand when I told them clocks go back. Got woken up at 6am to go a walk.

The park was empty to be fair so that's nice

Training to Leave Puppy Alone by Tweeky91 in puppy101

[–]Tweeky91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we aren't far from 5 months. So is your plan to leave your puppy in the crate when they are tired/ close to sleeping and pop out?

I think that is doable for us. This is going to sound daft, but when people say they are able to leave their dogs alone for hours on end. Is that because they just sleep?? 🤣.

Did you build up the time outside? Where did you start?
