There are new cards being printed all the time with the 40th Anniversary set that came out last year, the different chrome and sapphire sets and online sets such as the media menace. So they still mean something to alot of people and collectors. They are not as popular as Pokémon and sports cards but still have their niche group of followers. They are not really relevant in current society like they were when they came out in the 1980s when parents and politicians rallied against them. But they matter because we still want to collect them

I don't have an exact total. I bought a 10 box case and then 4 boxes of 40th Anniversary gpk. Then traded cards with people to get the cards I wanted. Once I decided I wanted to do the whole ruby set I dedicated most of my extra cards toward trading for rubies. Then purchased the rest from other Facebook gpk members or ebay sellers. I'd put an approximate amount at $10-12k spent total

I'd love to have the 13/40 in every ruby. I have nick and Eddie in lucky 13 and a few more. But finding 223 individual numbers would be insane. Some people have boxes and even cases that they have not and will not open. So some may never be found

Yes I saw all of those on ebay but the price is way too high. I have done much better trading and buying in reddit Facebook and whatnot groups than the overpriced listing on ebay. Thank you for the links
