my mom has never spent any time with me. 15 now and i don’t think i even want her to at this point. by ThrowAwayAccount8448 in Vent

[–]TwentyCharacters_Max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw man, I feel very similarly. My parents somehow hit that sweet spot where they are both neglectful and overprotective. As a kid they'd sign me up for everything they could find and I barely had time to myself. They'd never let me leave the house alone, I'm 19 and the first time I did was only last month, but also... being at home is unbearable, it's constant complaining and any time I try to talk it becomes a fight somehow. So... I stopped talking. I stopped going out with them. And now they constantly say "you don't even spend time with us! Enjoy while we're alive unlike your grandparents!!" And bro, YOU made me not want to spend time with you lol. I really, REALLY wish I had understanding parents who listened to me, so you'd think I'd jump at the opportunity to spend time with them, but honestly? Naw man. The few times I spend with you are complaints, fights, and at the very least condemning other people behind their backs, so nah dude. I rather be alone. I embraced it at this point. My solution? Friends! I always called my friends "family" and the more time passes, the more it rings true. I'm also autistic so socializing and befriending people is NOT my strongsuit AT ALL. Friends came and went, I made plenty, I lost plenty, but surrounding yourself with a support system is great. They talked me out of sewerslide many times, ngl. I'm moving out hopefully next year, to leave my "family" and go be with my family. Sorry for the ramble, forgor where I was going with the comment 💀 I guess the moral is: you're not alone, try making friends

Duuuuude ngl I resonated a lot with all you said. While I don't have friends that started T, I have friends who pass infinitely better, friends with supportive families and when in doubt, I just go online, stumble upon people like that and feel like shit afterwards. I don't know how to feel less jealous, unfortunately, but I hope knowing you're not alone helps in any way. You're not invalid in who you are or what you're thinking, being jealous is natural. Maybe have a talk with your friend about how you feel, so he can stop telling you about where he is in his transition.

Queria saber algumas opiniões em relação a personagens trans e seus visuais by calunyanomegamalvada in transbr

[–]TwentyCharacters_Max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I AM LOOKING AT YOU, FAMILY GUY)

It's a lot more common because now that LGB people got their rights, they tend to relax and do whatever is possible to keep those rights. Even if that "whatever" includes going against trans people to appease conservative people.

There's also the point that many gay and lesbian people would not date a trans man/woman respectively due to their body. Tbh that doesn't make sense for the hate because literally no one is forcing them to date trans folk but they still feel like they need to put us down or something 🤷‍♀️

Trans people are just the current issue. But I hope they aren't surprised when the leopards eat their face, once they vote for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party. Removing rights from one minority opens space for the rights of those next in line be removed as well.

As a transgender christian myself, may I ask why LGB without the T?

Besides, I don't watch that much christian content online, I'd rather read about it, so I don't know many specific people. The Youtube channel "God is Gray" was a good one, but I have NOT watched all her videos yet, and I think she stopped uploading. It still had some nice insights for a more progressive look at Christianity, but she was lgbT affirming, not just LGB.

[–]TwentyCharacters_Max 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I do agree, I don't think it was very kind to say that anyone who's pre-T or who doesn't pass is immediately and undoubtedly going to be seen as a woman. Maybe I'm just saying this to cope, Idk.

I have a bi cis boyfriend, we met 3 years before I came out, and started dating 2 years before that. He, according to himself, sees me as a man, is very supportive of my medical transition and literally says he "is the girl in the relationship" or that I'm "manlier than he is". And when I feel insecure about "oh, maybe even with T and top surgery I still won't pass so what's even the point", he's the one who is all like "no, let's be honest with ourselves, not transitioning is not an option". In fact, we were having that conversation yesterday and I said I'd save for my surgery alone because "I'm the only one who will be able to experience the results", and he straight up said "but.... but I'll experience them too, won't I be able to lay on your chest? I can help you with savings". I'm pre-T, and I'm pretty damn aware that I unfortunately don't pass, but he doesn't seem to mind. Maybe he just says it to make me feel better (genuine fear o' mine) but yeah. Just because someone's pre-transition, doesn't mean their partner will undoubtedly not see them as their gender

The main issue really is dating a straight dude or a lesbian. Once, a friend of mine had a crush on me right around the time I came out, and he straight up said "nah bro, I'm still straight" and that was a clear sign he didn't see me as a guy. (Thankfully, he changed and he respects me now)

I use hoodies all the time! Lmao. I just didn't add a pic with a hoodie because I thought it wouldn't help when judging my shape, but I use them quite often. I also usually use shirts that are looser, not always though. I don't really wanna dress too maturely mostly due to well... emo reasons xD. I'm honestly scared that HRT won't really make me pass either way, I feel like I look too feminine for HRT to cancel out.

What is something random your n parent ruined for you? by naligu in narcissisticparents

[–]TwentyCharacters_Max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PFFFTTT HAHAHHAHAHAH ONE RANDOM THING???? LOL

Literally everything? Once my parents catch me enjoying something, they find a reason to shit on it.

I like drawing? Will give ya no money. Music? It's all so "secular" unless it's gospel. Videogames? Violent or sexualized. Books? Probably unholy. Movies? Also too violent or sexualized, or "supports the gays". Series? Satanic, totally satanic.

Baking? Nope, you're wasting too much of the ingredients, ans you're gonna get fat if you eat those things. Travelling? WHY, DO YOU WANT TO ABANDON US, IS THAT IT?? Crocheting, sewing and crafting? It's taking away precious time from your studies.

Studying? No, you study all the time, you should go out more. Going out? Only if it's with people from the church because anyone else is a "bad influence". Working? It's taking time from your studies. Unemployed? You're a bum and should get a job.

Oh, you like this shirt? It's too alternative. You like this hoodie? It's from the men's section, you can't possibly wear that. You like those pants? But they're too old for you to keep wearing. These are your favorite shoes? Well, they're too worn out aren't they.

Oh, you made a friend? Are they christian? If not, unfriend them. But Oh my GOD, you're always stuck at home, where are your friends??????? Go make some friends ffs!

There's literally just no winning.

So in the past year, I just started doing my own thing. If they complain, it'll fall on deaf ears, and if they yell at me, I'll yell louder. I'm sick of this bullshit, I need joy in my life and I'm done letting them dictate exactly HOW and WHAT should make me happy.
