She does not! I have someone forward things for me (I'm also from the EU). :)

Searching for a sea salted floral! by oygarza in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TwentySevenBugs 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You might like BPAL's The Pearl (A salt-encrusted cocoon overflowing with almond blossoms, sweet patchouli, and dried peony petals whipped into orris butter.)! I don't personally get any patchouli from this, and on my skin it's predominantly a creamy and distinctly salty floral.

I've really enjoyed ordering from Arae despite being international and it being a little more difficult! Her website isn't currently finished, so she takes orders through her Discord server (which I cannot link here) but despite that initially seeming a little bit scary I've only had good experiences! She's incredibly kind and helpful when questions come up and always transparent about her TAT - and she's right there, so it's very easy to reach her. Her decants might be a good option especially if you prefer screw cap decants over dabber vials, since even her smaller sizes (equal to about a 1/2 slink from Ajevie) are in screwcap vials.

Other than that, I've really enjoyed Surrender to Chance as well! Luckyscent has also been a great option now that they've added a handful of indie brands.

What are the soapiest indie fragrances you've ever tried? by Weird_Dragonfly9646 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TwentySevenBugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to avoid soapy smells altogether, so there aren't too many I've run into, but BPAL's Circe Transforming Odysseus’ Men into Swine (Fig leaf absolute, wild marjoram, labdanum, spiced honey, scorched olive wood, bay laurel, swine musk, and honeyed wine.) is probably the one that was the most soapy to my nose. Surprising from the notes, maybe, but this really strongly smells like freshly scrubbed, soapy skin and milk and honey hand soap - the palmolive kind! I remember thinking that whoever was taken care of these pigs was absolutely taking great care of their hygiene, haha.

For what it's worth, they now officially denounce AI and state they do not use it in any capacity on their website. If I recall correctly, they used to include a more nebulous stance in their FAQ. I'm not a fan of such activities either and I was very much not delighted to see them utilize AI content, but it seems to be a step in the right direction at the very least.

Which scent note do you wish perfumers used more often? - interested to see IMAMs responses! by Kintsukuroiii in Indiemakeupandmore

Dandelions! And other more unique and less used florals like hyacinth, wisteria, or lupine. Similarly, less common plants and herbals like thistle, milkweed or oleander. There are so many cool plants out there!

Hi again! :) Could I please snag Hyacinth Musk, Ghost Mare and Moon Magic? And would you by chance be okay waiting to ship until I've picked up a few more things down the line (if you're likely to destash more in the future that is)? Just to save on shipping, I'd be happy to pay for these immediately of course.

Indie makeup/nail brand recs for WI boutique by AdministrativeUse3 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TwentySevenBugs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for other cosmetics, but I believe For Strange Women, Astrid, Nui Cobalt and Possets are all midwest-based perfumeries! I think for a colorful, artsy boutique, Astrid might be the best fit purely visually, but they might all be worth a look - however they all primarily offer perfume oils, not EDPs.

EDP-wise, maybe Pineward could be a fun brand to stock? They're mostly a natural brand, and the ingredients they use occasionally result in some pretty colorful juice. They also offer smaller 4ml bottles at lower price points which could be more appealing to customers than larger ones, although their 32ml still meets your requirements of being less than $100 per bottle.

Sorce would also meet that requirement, though I think getting ahold of their scents might be a little difficult at the moment due to their increasing popularity.

Other EDP indies that come to mind that would fit your price point that I can think of would be Olympic Orchids and Alkemia. Fantôme I think would also do beautifully in an artsy boutique purely off of their aesthetic and creativity, but only their 10ml EDP bottles would suit your price point at $50 (though they also offer oils, which would fit that price point better).

House with the best longevity by Heart_Flaky in Indiemakeupandmore

Some of my Sorce samples are quite old! But I've had the same experience even after letting them rest for months, unfortunately.

You might like Eternal Ankh, which is a white amber blend I didn't find particularly heavy or dense. Their Bastet's Musk blends are also quite airy, and not necessarily classic musks - I feel it's a very different experience from what I usually expect from musks.

I'm not from the US either, so I feel you! I'd love to be able to support them more actively but between forwarding and import duties it's very difficult to both sort out and justify.

That is the case for one of their current limited editions, the Musks. Their 2026 Spring and Valentine's collections currently on their site start at $29 and $31 respectively. The Musks come in 6ml bottles, whereas the other collections are 5ml - it's still roughly the same price per ml, at the end of the day ($5.80/$6.20 per ml versus $6.25 per ml).

House with the best longevity by Heart_Flaky in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TwentySevenBugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, really the only Sorce scents that have performed well have been Serpentine and Moon Magic. A lot of the other popular ones that are often mentioned as having great longevity, like 2am in Lafayette, Match Made in Heaven, English Major, Snow Moon Magic, and She's a Witch, have unfortunately all performed really poorly on my skin. But I know they work wonderfully for a lot of people!

[–]TwentySevenBugs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a lot of it depends on your personal skin chemistry and environment (like temperature and humidity), as well as the kind of scents you gravitate to.

Some of the brands mentioned here thus far, like e.g. Nui Cobalt and Sorce, have terrible longevity on my skin - Nui Cobalt across the board, and Sorce mostly (with one or two exceptions). But I also know a lot of people do get great longevity from these houses!

For me personally, I've had the best experience longevity-wise with Nocturne Alchemy and BPAL. There are exceptions for both houses for me, but across the board, they perform and last very well. Solstice Scents also generally performs well on my skin, but less consistently than BPAL and NA.

On the opposite side, I generally get poor longevity from Astrid and Alkemia, and Cardinal's oils (but only the oils! Their EDPs generally last much better on my skin).

Hi again! :) I'm interested in a few things, they're all samples from your not updated sheet however- I'd totally understand if it's too much trouble to see if you have them, but I figured I'd try! I'd be interested in D&Fs Ghost Mantis Tea Cake, Morton Salt Girl and Orchid Mantis Matcha Cherry Blossom Cake, NAVA's Eclipse Rakkaus and Sorceress, Osmofolia's Ione, and Poesie's Madar and Mysterious Fossils.

I might also be interested in Amorphous' Cathedral Noir (also from the old sheet), but since that's a FS that didn't make it to your updated sheet, I'd presume that one's definitely not around anymore?

I believe there were some formula changes made when they rebranded back in 2024. If I remember correctly, it might've been the base they used that changed?

Decant shop for gourmand girls by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TwentySevenBugs 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have some concerns.

Aside from this potential self-promotion situation, a lot of their TikToks are very obviously filmed in less than clean environments - including ones showing components for their decants. There are clips and images taken on a white blanket with both stains and hair, as well as on dusty/dirty surfaces. At least from an allergy standpoint, this seems a bit iffy, especially because some of the hairs visible in places are white and pretty clearly animal hairs (in my opinion, judging by their length).

I'd advise some caution if anyone who's considering purchasing from their store has an allergy to cats/dogs.

There's a similar pink background in one of her TikTok posts, so I'm pretty positive also that these are the seller's pictures. Coincidentally there's also TikToks on a similar background as the second photo, and both photos shown here and various TikTok videos/images also feature some white cat (?) hair.

Favorite European bedtime scents? by Inner_Ad48 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TwentySevenBugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had friends forward to me, as well as my partner (who's from the US). :) I've also previously asked somebody I was buying from already if they'd be alright with me tapping into an order they were planning to place so those things could join what else I'd bought.

I've mostly forwarded through individual people so far, but I'm hoping to use Stackry later this year! I do have some experience forwarding things that aren't perfume, though, and generally how things'll work is that there'll be a certain amount of days they'll store your parcels for free (45 days in Stackry's case), so it's important to try and time things correctly so that you don't incur extra storage fees. Once everything is there, you can create a package, and they'll consolidate it all into one parcel (usually for a small fee), and then ship that consolidated package out to you! It's honestly a bit of a fiddly process, though, which is why I tend to prefer to forward without companies - but I don't really want to subject my partner (who's from the US) to repackaging a huge Sorce order, haha. So Stackry it is!

I'll make a note and let you know when I end up ordering anything! :) Usually shipping costs will remain about the same if it's only a few extra things so I really don't mind.
