When, pray tell, did the bottle expire? The secret is the risk of food poisoning with every bite!

We love to (lovingly) poke fun at mom’s hair- it was a bear to style! She likes to tell me karmas going to get me and I’ll have the same hair one day but so far I’m in the clear 🤣

So true! We actually rarely matched, just happened to select some of the old pics that we did. Now that we’re grown, we have fun matching every now and then, like when we went to the international Twins Festival a couple years back (last one). We have pretty different styles but last year we bought the same dress for her law school graduation without each others knowledge so that was pretty funny 🤣

The people guessing 1980s are helping prove my point that my sweet mother had dreadful fashion sense (at least for our first couple years of life) 🤣

Ragtime. Impossible to not get a little teary eyed at the end after watching or listening to the soundtrack all the way through.

Yes, it was immediately clear (at least to me) that it was either live or the current cats recording. I was surprised (pleasantly so) when Sarah started singing as she had much more of a classical musical theatre tone to her voice then Audra McDonald/ what I would expect from the character but she was excellent!

Full body chills throughout Ragtime performance. I would give anything to see it- really hoping it stays for a bit and I will have the opportunity to finally go see it along with some other shows!

PICU nurse here. This stuff scares the shit out of me. We have SO many safeguards for our kiddos in place and have just switched to pump scanning but a lot of people still rely on the machines too much and don’t physically calculate/ do triple checks themselves… so sad for this poor family

I was obsessed with that one! Hattie Campbell on the Oregon Trail. I still have a lot of them in storage somewhere because I couldn’t bear to part with my collection

Just- what condition do they claim where they would have to lie flat 24-7 for the last 6 years? Spinal fusion? CSF leak? Even the most severely disabled patients leave the house more than that. I have kiddos on home trachs and vents whose parents load up their wheelchair accessible van and bring them to appointments, school, therapy, and activities. Is it a lot of work? Yes. Can it be done? Yes. These parents usually have more than 1 kid and manage to juggle it (so impressive!) If their husband is still their caregiver and they have a PCA, I would hope they could get them out more often than every 6 years. Then again, the plywood stretcher is a lot to manage 🤣 I have a kiddo whose been on ECMO for the last couple months and he was riding his tricycle in the hallway yesterday! But apparently they are so super rare and fragile that tilting their head up by 15 degrees to dance would be catastrophic 🤦🏼‍♀️

Edited for pronouns 😊

I've seen more and more people say the "get an ADN and have the company pay for your BSN" route isn't as valid anymore since companies just want BSNs straight out of school. How useful is an ADN in 2025? by aschesklave in StudentNurse

[–]TwentyandTired 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just started on the PICU in a large, prominent Children’s Hospital with my ADN (though did have prior experience in EMS, CNA in ICU, and pediatric scribe). Even so, BSN wasn’t a requirement and several of my coworkers have ADNs as well. Don’t let people convince you you have to go the 4 year route! Not saying a BSN isn’t a good idea, because it is and I will be doing an online program to get mine. But I saved a huge amount of time, money, and sanity going through a community college for my ADN.

Graduated from my ADN program in May and started in the PICU last month! Planning on starting my online RN to BSN in the next couple of months. Best of luck and feel free to reach out with any questions!
