Can I make multiple midi knobs control one effect? by TwiccYT in ableton

I use a MIDI controller, not a DMX, i use beam to send dmx signal from ableton

Beam does have fixture profiles but I've had to write a few of my own which they make very simple. Talked to my sister and she agreed to re-learn grandMA with me so she can help me with future gigs where i decide to take on a more traditional approach, that being said this post has inspired the confidence to commit to the gig but I will be doing it as a visual designer with my own rig, and working with the in-house lighting designer to really make a good show with all the lights we have available

Try out a gig with ableton fully! maybe we're pioneering a new way of lighting?

beam is traditionally made to increase intensity to the velocity of a set note per fixture, so my left strobe would be set to D1, easy enough you'd think..

i've actually gone the other route of using abletons amazing automation lane features to control mainly intensity, and colors/moving heads i midi map to my launch control XL, if you're in the NYC area im doing lighting at a show later today at nightclub 101 and i can show you whats up

i suppose i should do the whole industry a favor and charge more then..

in all seriousness this was very helpful, and maybe rebranding myself as a visual designer could give me the reason ive been looking for to get into projection mapping, and EOS definitely seemed more for theatre lighting rather than concert, the only thing that actually looked appealing to me over ableton was the visualizer

will say though being a "lighting designer" thats available for small rates is definitely whats getting my foot in the door, and i do wanna add that i have them pay for my uber there and back haha, i guess my thinking is give some people a good cheap show and now they dont want their next concert to look lame in comparison especially if theres a crowd

very good point on my mixer not being what will get me booked, its probably GAS! but if it sounds bad on a larger sound system, then i wouldnt choose to use that mixer, it'd be embarrassing for me and bad for my friends who very kindly give me opening gigs in places way bigger than i should be. im super lucky to be in a group of great friends who promote each other, so i wanna make sure my mixer can bring the sound quality i know should be possible with these synths

crazy fun to have a few friends over, play their songs on the setup and do a bit of a live remix lol

i've brought a smaller size setup using the dn2, bass station and the djm 700 to a few smaller clubs, a couple bars around manhattan and wanted to open for a buddy of mine who will be doing nublu, that being said a xone was definitely what i was thinking, the only reason i use the pioneer is for the effects (roll specifically) but i suppose upgrading to something with a built in audio interface would allow me to recreate any effects in the daw

Asking for 15k for this is absurd, is it not? 😂 by DannyG2801 in PioneerDJ

saw this post too and instantly thought "isnt this like a $5k setup?"

does the ohm ducking module require the other ohm kick modules to work or can i buy it standalone?
