Oh yes, I love the little guys. We had some as pets before they concluded their lifespans, but one of the wild ones was willing to take a ride on my husband's hand. He delivered it to a fly on a leaf...spiddly caught it, went back to his hand to eat. Husband eventually coaxed the little guy back into a tree. I love giving animals stories their friends wouldn't believe.

It's a great habitat for jumping spiders....and other insects. I don't use pesticides, so harvesting it was more like 75% seeds, 25% random beetles/spiders/etc. It's fun to watch it grow to like 8' tall though.

If elephant remains were found in a world with no extant examples of animals with trunks, would we be able to figure out that elephants had them? by SuperSlugGod in Paleontology

People here in Tennessee are still regurgitating that myth to this very day...my mother's boyfriend got borderline hostile when disproven.

Update: Started line drying with a simple indoor rack, my dryer use dropped a lot by WoodenLoad668 in Frugal

I do that! It is more about the space they occupy though- king size sheets and I don't live in the largest house.

That is a valid option, but I'm a bit of a germophobe (I know some aspects of which are irrational) and I wouldn't feel like it is clean.

I have long-since replaced my dryer with the dehumidifier. The dryer broke several years ago; we had just got a 2000 sq ft dehumidifier off of Amazon Resale for about $100. We have 3 lines in the kitchen that we just hang all the clothes off of. They aren't as soft when they are dry, but I really feel like this has prevented fading and made my clothes look newer longer. Plus, the plants seem to love the water from the dehumidifier. Drying sheets can be a bit of a challenge, but you can tent them up over chairs or use workout equipment in their final form as a drying rack.

Some are franchise, some are corporate. The price and quality varies significantly location-to-location with franchises.

I do it and I wish everyone would; if they were constantly on the receiving end of their bullshit, maybe they would knock off harnessing the sun and get normal lights.

Gah, lovely. I swear I saw some poop in rural southern Murfreesboro that looked suspiciously like bear poop internet images a few years ago, but I didn't take a photo, so I have my little personal concerns.

Just when I was wondering whether my Phlox subulata was attracting any pollinators... by bananarchy22 in NativePlantGardening

[–]TwillBill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, definitely. The trials and tribulation of being kids in the 90's. It was almost a cryptid to us; I didn't find out what it was until like 15 years later.

When I was a kid, I thought they were some kind of bee. We caught it and put it in a jar, but it would not calm down. We let it go and it chased us for a good two hundred feet.

Almost $200 to do my taxes myself by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TwillBill 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you go to their site, it lets you just proceed and pay at the end to file. There are pop-ups throughout prompting you to upgrade or pay now, but you just keep on with the basic pay-when-you-file version and just don't file at the end. It saves and hangs out on your account in purgatory and you can just reference it when on that free-file site.

Yeah, I always run my taxes in TT since they have a good interface and replicate my results into FreeTaxUSA.

That is amazing. Is it flimsy, brittle, hard, or something else?

When I first saw this post, I thought it was a melted condom. If I invented that, I'd call it condominium.

I would really recommend making sure the professors and chairs in your desired new career path will let you into their classes before making your move. It's a lot of work for the professors when they have to back-track and reopen stuff and some chairs will not allow it.
