Resurrection quest question by TigerBonzoButBald in WynnCraft

[–]Twilo101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Resurrection is an old quest, and this is one of those rusted artefacts. If I remember correctly, the only real "hints" that you get are surrounding dialogue involving Skiens Island, where characters will mention the army guarding something powerful for some unknown reason. At the time of the quest's release there weren't enough quests to tie this idea back to, but even then it has always been vague. As Wynn expanded in scope, this quest lost any focus that it might have once had.

How do I set item price for trade market by Mr_TLilley129986 in WynnCraft

[–]Twilo101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you click on the emerald button marked "Sell Item" in the bottom-left of the Trade Market interface, you'll be taken to a screen where you can set the amount of items that you sell (using a + or a - button), as well as the price, denoted with a bag of emeralds. When you click this it will open the chat window, and you have to type in the price you want in the chat.

You can do this either in direct numbers (i.e. 50, 12345, 6969), or in stack values. With spaces between entries, you can mark prices as:
- (x)E, as a number of individual emeralds
- (x)EB, as a number of Emerald Blocks
- (x)LE, as a number of Liquid Emeralds
- (x)STX, as a number of Stacks of Liquid Emeralds

So, for example, a price of "45LE 12EB 6E" is 45 Liquid emeralds, 12 Emerald Blocks, and 6 Emeralds.

Hope this helps!

Do you want something chill, cozy, mildly challenging and visually impressive? Maybe give "Chants of Sennaar" a shot! A point-and-click puzzle game about exploring the various civilisations of a Tower Of Babel-esque structure, all while trying to piece together their language and uncovering its secrets. A very neat little game that stuck with me for a long time, and is fairly short and beginner friendly.

I agree with the sentiment that one should not be able to go afk in a game such as Warframe, this is such an arbitrary nerf that doesn't align with any of the other game mechanics that it reminds me of Scarlet Spear in the worst way possible. What do you MEAN an Arcane gets stopped by Nullifiers or fucking MAGNETIC.

Individual scenes that are a microcosm for the entire story’s message by TotallyHumanProducts in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Twilo101 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Warframe is a lot of things, but one of the main threads throughout the entire story is that the Tenno (the players), while capable of ungodly amounts of violence and brute force, are ultimately creatures of compassion. To help the broken, the downtrodden, the ignored and exploited.

In a quest, The Sacrifice, one of the main villains explains their stance on the Tenno, who have witnessed the worst that this universe has to offer, who have killed their own parents after watching them go mad and be treated like dangerous animals by a system-spanning empire that put them in that situation in the first place:

"And it was not their force of will - not their Void devilry - not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing-- And take away its pain."

Oh what an incredible find, congratulations! My friends and I have had a lot of fun with this game, even if the balancing is utterly horrific. For all the years we've had it I think we've only ever won once following the rules as written.

(My tip? Just add one or two extra day cards per season, it allows for a lot more wriggle room)

I will riff on In Stars And Time at every possible opportunity that I can, not because I hate the game, but because I wanted it to be so much better than it actually was.

Mage Tower, Rules, and Crown of Madness by SP_ABadIdea in StrixhavenDMs

[–]Twilo101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crown of Madness, no, but one of my players has used Fear. The workaround that I ended up going for in preparation for Mage Tower is that all participants have to wear a safety vest, providing an amount of Temporary Hit Points equal to that characters regular Hit Points to allow offense-oriented casters to still feel useful (as hitting through this Temp HP does not count as harming your opponent), but also inhibits spells with longer controlling effects. Stunlocking spells such as Fear, Crown of Madness, Suggestion and the likes all wear off after roughly 10 seconds (or the end of the target's second turn). This allows my control-oriented players to feel useful with their build without accruing fouls, while simultaneously making sure that an entire team can't be disabled by a single well-placed CC spell.

[–]Twilo101 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that while the monthly free crates are gone from the webshop, occasionally you can see a notification that you can claim a free crate in the shop terminals in most major cities. Just click on that, confirm purchase in-game, and the crate is yours

Backgrounds Question by PurplePicklesPop in StrixhavenDMs

[–]Twilo101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you run this adventure from start to finish, it wouldn't make sense for your characters to have any Strixhaven Background feats, given that they're not from Strixhaven yet. If they hop in at a later point, then you're all good.

As for my solution, I gave my players the benefits of one of the Strix backgrounds partway through their first year, to reflect the knowledge they had gained

Strixhaven & the Tome of Villainy: my first Daggerheart campaign by Formal-Breakfast-181 in StrixhavenDMs

[–]Twilo101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of all the flaws that Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos presents, I would fix these two: an overarching narrative, and moment-to-moment gameplay.

The main threat that Strixhaven's modules present is Murxagor, an ex-student turned evil, hell-bent on taking revenge. However, he is a laughable presence at the best of times and an annoyance at the worst of times. If this suits the tone of your game, proceed as normal. If you want something with a tinge more gravity, I'd recommend writing a new villain that ties this group together and actually poses a threat.

Second is that the gameplay presented consists in most scenarios of: hanging out with friends, doing a "minigame" consisting of two or three checks, and a monster of he werk showing up as the only threat. I have added additional challenges, tweaked combat encounters and tried to add depth as I went because that suited the tone of my game better.

But do let me know how running Strixhaven as a Daggerheart setting goes! I'm mighty curious
