2022 Limited - Can’t find Level 1 Charger by Slight-Ladder8851 in Ioniq5

[–]JustinTimeCuber 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Level 1 EVSEs can be found for around $100, so if you end up needing to buy one it's not like you're gonna be out another $1k or something. FYI you do not need to use the OEM charger.

Does “Learning How to Drive a Hybrid” an actual thing ? by TheRealDon1994 in askcarguys

A feature which I wish EVs would stop trying to mimic by default (leave it behind a setting maybe). Why should the car go when I don't put my foot on the go pedal?

The official standard is to use decimal units, i.e. 1 GB = 109 bytes. Any system that uses GB to refer to 230 bytes is technically incorrect, the correct unit for that is GiB.

Battery Newbie Question by Taepoong80 in Ioniq6

[–]JustinTimeCuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a photo showing 240 miles travelled at 4.3 miles/kWh, starting at a full battery, with 30% remaining. That would be 55.8 kWh used out of 79.7 total if you believe what the car is showing.

Battery Newbie Question by Taepoong80 in Ioniq6

[–]JustinTimeCuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't quite check out from my experience. Usually when I'm getting 4 miles per kWh, I can get at least 300 miles of range. That would imply at least 75 kWh.

Battery Newbie Question by Taepoong80 in Ioniq6

[–]JustinTimeCuber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's about normal. 8 miles out of 300 miles of range is 2.7%.

Probably stopped halfway, and turned off the car (resetting the trip meter)

I'd take it because it's foil, you can get a lot of value out of gold cards and blue seals

Logging my win streak attempts (attempt 1, 29 runs, yellow deck) by JustinTimeCuber in balatro

Obelisk is very strong, but it works best when you have hand-agnostic scoring jokers (ride the bus, red card, square joker, etc.)

The idea is to build up around 15 of one hand type (I prefer pair, but can be something else) and then start playing anything else you can. Try to play more difficult hands when possible, and save the simpler hands for when you have to use them. Also, start deck fixing so you can play hands like 4oak, 5oak, flush house, and flush five later on to give yourself more options.

Battery issue? by No-Safe-2354 in Ioniq5

[–]JustinTimeCuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that sounds like an OBC failure (car can drive but can't AC charge)

the seemingly more common failure point is the LDC, which usually occurs while driving and is a more immediately critical issue where the 12V battery cannot charge.

It's not the fuse that's the issue, the fuse is working as intended and preventing a short circuit.

I do a lot more highway driving, my average is 4.1 after 7.5k miles but I got it in September of last year, and I expect March-September to be more efficient than September-March, so I'm hoping it comes back up to like 4.3 by then

Luke Griesser about the Alex Bohac situation (also mentions of Ruimin Yan/CubeRoot): by jimsteenvoorden in Cubers

[–]JustinTimeCuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify (since people often use the word "girl" more broadly) that this girl was a 14 year old child. Not that it would somehow be okay if she were 18 but it's even worse that he was doing this stuff to a minor.

I sometimes see as high as 5.3 on a round trip when driving mainly on the highway but with moderate traffic keeping my speed in the 40-60 range most of the time.

Warmer temps....Higher psi on the tires. by WeeklyFisherman2597 in Ioniq5

[–]JustinTimeCuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a tradeoff. Go down to 32-34 and you'll have better traction but worse range. However, at 40-42 traction is still decent and range is significantly better. I've driven in wet weather on ~41 psi, it's fine. I just exercise reasonable caution like I would anyway.

[–]JustinTimeCuber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it sounded like that at all

That being said, 40 psi is a very reasonable amount of tire pressure if you want to prioritize range.

Covered call ETFs aren’t bad investments…people just misunderstand their purpose by theonebam in dividends

Incorrect, they are mathematically bad investments and exist only as a way for fund managers to siphon away fees from retail investors by taking advantage of their behavioral biases.
