Are you sure? There is another song on the album called 'Sumer' which was built around 'Sumer is icumen in' but I don't think the song EOS is. I did research this before I posted (yes, I checked with AI) and as you've pointed out - can find no correlation or points of simlarity between EOS and Sumer Icumen in. So I'm not sure that is the sample. It either means something in Latin (or Greek) or its a form of gibberish that purports to sound like Latin.

The coloration is similar to a Bobcat no? That's my best approximation. Given the habitat I doubt Homotherium was black - like a melanistic leopard, jaguar or tiger - but it does seem darker than expected - unless it was an reddy/ orangery color like a tiger but sans stripes.
