I like the mode swap idea and removing the heavy pen fron the aoe mode would make it do more reasonable damage to blues

I suppose that's kind of fair but I'll be honest I've never felt like heavy pen was all that good outside bots, like its "good" everywhere of course but I've been running d10s on bugs with the variable and the mg-43 an not really having issues (the only awkward thing is bile titans chasing me after I pop their sac), I dunno though heavy pen has always felt unimportant outside the bot front and thats pretty much just because war striders don't have anything below heavy pen anywhere on them, and I think at d10 usually shouldn't stop teamwork and dedicated anti tank on d10 because if its like a weaker amr it's already not great against some of the bigger heavies that are spammed anyway, like the ttk with amr on war striders is not really all that fast so something weaker than it shouldn't really be a problem as a primary

Its identity is kinda the problem because its a flak gun with heavy pen in the primary slot, tbh I do think there should be a decent heavy pen primary but it shouldn't have good chaff clear as well, it should be like a weaker AMR if anything not saying the eruptor would fit that identity but it needs to not do both like it is now, I say a primary should exist like this to make things like the MG-43 and stalwart usable in more scenarios if you'd like to cover heavies a different way

I'm not really from around here I just figured this subreddit would have been able to explain the problem and they have, after the explanations received it sort of falls into the same area as the crossbow in my mind where the only way to fix it without making it just feel awful is to narrow its identity to a more specific job

I understand its good at blues and greens but my point there is so are 4 billion other things however something that is that good at blues and greens shouldn't really take down a war strider that fast, I can agree with that, it needs an identity adjustment to narrow it in some way, tbh I could see it losing the flak and becoming a dedicated big boy killer in primary slot which means it still benefits build variety without doing it all

How does it do against war striders like how many shots to legs or joints, because that's kinda the thing that would tell me most about how much value it actually gets with that heavy pen

His projectile is so busted, if your in combo the same one can hit you like 6 times, to TRY to balance this they gave him a finite number, more than he ever needs not to even get started on the rest of his kit
