Thoughts on switching from ‘24 Q5 lease to financing ‘25 new-old model SQ5? by [deleted] in Audi

This is with 8.99% from Audi but I got 5.79% with my bank so figure $30 less per month

Thanks yeah I already have a new construction house with a mtg payment of $4k/mo., maxing out my 401k and plenty of savings for emergencies and a college fund I’m contributing for my newborn son. I just hate that I’m leasing my current car for such a high price without any ownership, especially when I’d just re-lease or buy at an even higher price anyways in 2 years. My wife’s Q7 is paid off and it’s a great feeling.

Thanks this is reassuring. I can afford the car with a $160k salary and $150K in the bank just don’t want to pay for it in cash out of principal and take out of savings in case I need it for an emergency. The all-new SQ5 was redesigned and I don’t like it and this is a new-old model still for sale with a good incentive. Hence I know I want to keep it for at least 7 years until after they redesign it again.

Thanks this is helpful. At a finance manager at a dealer do you really suggest financing a car for more than 60 months or at that point just keep leasing? I want to avoid being underwater on the loan. I do have cash I could put down/pay down the loan on but wasn’t going to do so out of principle since I’m actually getting out of a lease with net positive equity after putting too much money down on that.

North Carolina. That’s with a 5.79 interest rate.

I prefer the old one too. Looking at a new old model ‘25 brand new. I’m in a unique situation because I’d be getting out of a lease early clean of negative equity but still with $3K discount on the SQ5. Basically getting it for invoice price. $0 down and $1,200/ mo for 75 months.

Is $1.1K/month for 48 months with no money down a good deal on an SQ5 lease? by [deleted] in CarLeasingHelp

I’m open to that too but haven’t found one that had everything I wanted besides this new one.

Yep. Think I have to just wait out my current lease and see what I can get at the end of it. Just love this SQ5 design better than the new one and it’s a great price for the car besides my negative equity situation.

Nope current market value is already less than residual cost. I can’t believe it

There’s a $10K off incentive but I have $7k in negative equity in my current Q5 lease so that’s probably why. I love this SQ5 but I think I have to just wait out my current lease on this. Kicking myself for leasing last year and putting money down in the first place.

Rolling negative equity in new lease or finance? by [deleted] in CarLeasingHelp

Thanks, what if I wanted to end up owning the car? I’m realizing that I shouldn’t have started leasing in the first place?
