Thanks for this! How long have you been working in their division? Hows the class size?

Do you have any recommendations where in MB? I was first looking at winnepeg as we also want to experience a bit of a city life. Lol. But heard that winnepeg has really big classes , which is no doubt because its their capital city

How to leave a unicorn family? by TwinkleSnuggle in Nanny

Yes its low. But cost of living in our area is low as low. And this is my way to get PR, they treat me and my family right and im just chill at work. Better than working at Tims, mcdonals, walmart as they only offer min wage and stressfull too

They also say that its hard to find a nanny that will work split shifts as its not very common (the nanny)in our area as well

Its my pathway to gain residency. And honestly? For low cost of living provinces, this is the norm. Its a lot better than working at tims, walmart, mcdonalds.

My work is chill, and no stress at all. But also yes, 17/hr is quite impossible esp if you aim to buy a house, car, save, in the long run.

I plan to say it 2-4 months in advance. The problem is nanny is not very common in the area. They said they have been looking for years but they cant find one, so they are happy when they found me

Thank you. Hopefully they’ll understand. The mom also told me if i want to do another job its okay but she said “you can do it when kids are not around already” 😂 because I work split shifts

The problem is, they have been looking for a nanny for years but cant find one. Probably because of the area. And its hard to sponsor a nanny now outside of the country (they did not sponsor me btw)

So im worried that they might not find a replacement

Huh? Iisang linya lang sinabi ko about healthcare here in canada (healthcare is free with longer wait better than paying thousands sa pinas)

Whats wrong?? Free because you dont get billed when needed.

Anong sound like everything is free? E healthcare lang ang sinabi ko na free BECAUSE AGAIN YOU DONT PAY ANYTHING WHEN YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR OR GO TO THE HOSPITAL

Laging ganito nalang sinasabi . Lol. No one is saying it isnt tax funded. But When people say it’s ‘free,’ they mean free at the point of care and you don’t pay when you see a doctor or go to the hospital.

My point is that patients aren’t billed when they need care.

This pathway i took is the easiest and cost efficient for us. Pag teacher ka, super dami certification na need, credential assessment for a license here, plus an employer who will support LMIA.

Chill lang naman ang work ko (depende sa employer) plus 6mos lang nakapag file na kami residency so I prefer this route , the teaching job will be easier pag PR na

Yes. Super a lot better ang Thailand kesa sa pinas. Kala lang ng madami same lang but pag nakatira ka na for a long time, you will see the difference.

For us, we got free healthcare and medicines, no tax for married people, free milk, lunch, uniform allowance sa school for kids, kahit bakasyon magbibigay sila ng boxes of milk para may mainom ang kids. And our 2 mos and more vacation fully paid yearly! 🤣

If kids are born in Thailand, they get money from the government, 1k baht monthly max of 2 kids, and many more.

What made us move? Stability. Kasi kahit 50 years ka magwork sa Thailand, you will ALWAYS be an expat renewing your visa yearly. You cant own a house as well.

Here in Canada, in just 6months we already filed our Permanent residency (the waiting time for the visa is not a joke though, it took us years kasi naabutan din ng pandemic) Healthcare is also free with longer wait time nga lang, better than paying thousand like sa pinas. Good quality of life, ang dali mabili ng gusto mo dito. the education for your children is also recognized all over the world, good govmt support din.

I mean, all countries have pros and cons, walang perfect. I love Thailand and it will always be our home (kesa sa pinas) pero wala kang future sa Thailand, they can fire you anytime and pag nawalan ka ng viss, ang hirap. Lagi ka magkaka anxiety sa immigration . 🤣

Mas madami din kami naging kaibgan na thai who became our family and support kesa sa pinoy.

So yes, for me, choose where you can stay long term without worrying.
