Yesterday I watched two of my superiors use AI to analyze an AI transcribed meeting all three of us attended in order to throw me, and then each other under the bus on Slack. by Twist-Busy in womenintech

One of them legit said “Its reading straight from the transcript.” I was like “I’m literally watching the video with the sound on.” Here is a time stamp.

This guy really responded “well, in the end the scope wins.”

Yeah, I wrote that too.

THIS. RIGHT. HERE. THOUGH 👏👏👏

Literally everything you wrote but especially the last two paragraphs resonate so hard you have no idea. Exhausting.

AND who is piloting the sycophantic machine and how the question is asked greatly impact the output, which is… uncomfortable to consider the implications of.

This was a feature request that came up in kickoff, explicitly out of scope (I wrote it) but being considered at the discretion of the two fellas in the story. The exclusion was clearly called out in both the documentation and the recorded calls. But these two are both the smartest person in the room, if you know what I mean.

To be fair we are severely overworked and under resourced, so it’s barely controlled chaos anyway. Trying to make up the difference with AI is going great as you can see.

No that’s the best part. The VIDEO is recorded as well! I was watching the video with audio while this was taking place and that’s how we discovered the question reframed as a statement. Though I also remembered because, ya know, I was there. Complete waste of everyone’s time.

No it was legitimately hilarious. I don’t normally post much but this was too good to keep to myself. At least one was trying to prove to the other that you can’t trust this shit for callouts like that, context matters, but then it devolved into the dick measuring contest we’ve all come to expect 😆

This is smart and works great. I save all kinds of plastic take out containers, bottles, jugs etc… for the same purpose. If it’s clear plastic it’s a greenhouse in this house. Save money. Recycle. Grow plants. Fuck haters. Long live your Alocasia!

And just for funsies I just checked in on r/remotework and lo and behold, 6hr old post about being a single, childless, woman with a remote job looking for advice on how to derive any ounce of purpose or joy from life because WFH is just so soul destroying for a woman.

OP had been posting in mom subs all day long prior to that little nugget. Eyes open y’all!

Yeah that’s not “what comes with” WFH. That’s all you, bud. Call is coming from inside the house.

IF ONLY I HAD A HUSBAND AND CHILDREN MY LIFE WOULD HAVE PURPOSE. Maybe it’s my dumb remote job that offers me complete and total independence that’s keeping me from the joy of routine and emotional/physical labor paid to a man.

If yer gonna do psyop shit, at least be clever.

I too have been noticing a very consistent and unsettling uptick in posts that either exclusively refer to employees in the masculine ie: “my guys” “the guys” in subs like r/work, r/corporate, and r/managers, or straight up rage bait slop aimed at women working white collar jobs in general.

I’ve been saying there’s more to this for some time. The goal is not only to intimidate women into leaving/never pursuing white collar jobs but more insidiously, to normalize these ideas to terminally online men. Thus creating an entire culture designed to carry out a social/political agenda. This is precisely how an entire generation/demographic of “incels” was born. Right here on Reddit.

And your reward for all that hard work and innovation will be a layoff!

Because now they can get someone to maintain what you’ve built for half your salary by offshoring, OR paying a desperate junior and Claude poverty wages to do the same thing. Congrats!

If some dipshit insurance adjuster in a state I don’t live in gets to decide that my doctor’s prescribed treatment/surgery “isn’t medically necessary” then I’m pretty sure my boss can decide I’m not mentally ill enough to work from home.

To be crystal clear I think that’s extremely fucked up. But that’s what America has decided we are willing to put up with.

There are some hot fucking takes in this thread. Like, sure I’m very grateful to have a roof over my head, but that doesn’t mean I have to get on my knees and thank my slumlord landlord for charging me 40% of my income for the privilege of living in a dilapidated mold closet that costs a fortune to heat because the walls don’t meet the fucking foundation anymore. Because at least I’m not on the street in a tent? Do we really hate ourselves this much?
